| In the first epsiode, Syler said, that Claire was special and that he couldn't kill her even if he wanted to.....(?)..... Claire ( and now Syler) might have a diffrent regenartive power then the english guy from japan (Adam) (it was mentioned only with him, that they have to aim at his head or cut it of, to kill him, and it wasn't mentiond with claire (?), was it? I'm not sure) maby Syler doesn't know the trick with cuting of the head? (eventhough, he might lern it know at the company.....) that's why they can't just kill Syler anymore, by just cutting his head of? (that's why Benette said he'll have to waite till he finds a way to kill Syler? or they don't know Claires reall powers, only Syler assumes that theres more to Claires powers.... and Bentte ment something else, when he said that....) ==> Claires real power isn't regenration (like Adam) but regenaration is just a side-affect of her real power: like someone who can handle fire, if that person never uses the fire (like making fire burst out of their hans), then no one could tell that they have such a power, but when that perosn is thrown in to a buring house, that person wouldn't burn (becaus the person ist fire-imune, but the persons power istn't being just fire-imune but beeing albe to controlle fire, being fire-imune is just a sideaffect..maby not being able to die is just a sideeffect of her real power...) |

| Senior Member | It's already been said Claire's power is regeneration. If you'll remember in season 1 Claire was incapacitated by getting that tree limb stuck in her brain. Adam and Claire had the exact same power and neither of them can be killed indefinitely. Only incapacitated indefinitely.

| That is correct. Peter got his regenerative powers from Clair, not Adam, and he was killed (incapacitated) once by Sylar when he shot a shard of glass into his brain. Although I did wonder about the fire thing with Claire's (real) mother. Like, can she shoot fire from any place on her body or just out her hands? If she put her hands on a hot stove would it hurt her or not? Can she burn her hair? Is she immune to just her fire or all types of fire (I really picture her getting burned, possibly to death, by that level 5 flame thrower with the blue flames). Also, when she was in the box thing with Claire and she was using her fire to get rid of all the oxygen, she didn't seem to be affected by the lack of air at all! Does she not need oxygen to breath? Could she stay under water indefinitely if she needed to???????????? |

| Senior Member | I was wondering the same about that scene, but she was telling Claire something about fighting it. I think she may have gotten used to it and knew what to expect. She knew exactly what she was going to do to Claire. It's still weird though!

| I remember reading here somewhere an idea that people aren't affected by their own powers, otherwise some of them would be pretty useless. Like Ted, he never got radiation poisoning even though he was the source of all that radiation. And the electricity girl (I forgot her name, the gold guy's daughter) never really got shocked by all that electricity shooting out of her. If they were affected by their own powers, they would never be able to use them, so I assume the writers have just decided that when someone has a power, they automatically become immune to it. So Claire's mom should be immune to fire. |

| Member | ironically, i was just having this same conversation with my mom about claire... we were talking about the second episode (i think) of season three where sylar got claires ability. the way he said "you dont get it, you can never die" just gave the feeling that maybe there IS more to it than what we have seen. my mom on the other hand thinks that what he meant was, she can never really die, but as you all have pretty much said, she can be incapacitated. but we think that, lets say if her head really was cut off, as long as it was placed back in its place on the body, it would reatatch itself.... hmmm... lots of questions with claire lol... and Peter and Sylar too, considering they now have her power... and possibly adam?.... one question that makes me laugh: if this is the case, like lets say that branch was never taken out and she was burried.. would she decay? if the branch somehow got out on its own or someone took it out years later, would she come back to life? how would she look? lol just random questions that i think up while watching the show.... |

| It was suggested by Mohinder that all the super powers are based on a chemical produced by the brain causing physical changes that manifest as powers. Sylar pulls out this gland to understand it and in the process kills the person. I think Claire is unique in that her power is not based in her brain but in her blood and cells hence the healing effect on others. So as long as she has even a cluster of cells she could theoretically heal. She may even have some sort of genetic backup of her memories in her DNA allowing her brain to heal. |
