| *WARNING SEASON 3 SPOLIERS AHEAD* Now in the episode the Second Coming in Season 3 Sylar tells Claire that she can not die. *AHEM* Yes she can. In an Episode in Season 1 (forgot the name) she gets killed when some object gets stuck in her brain and she does not heal until the doctor pulls it out. So she was dead. Not only that but in the Episode "Five Years Gone" set in the alternate future She is killed by Sylar (in disguise as Nathan Petrelli ) and splits open her skull, it would make since that by doing that it would kill her because by taking the brain she loses the ability to heal (like when her brain got injured after falling on that object which injured her brain so she did not heal). And also would a Nuke kill her? Im sure it would, since it would disinigerate her whole body so there is nothing left to heal. What about Dismembering? Im sure if you chopped off her head (not just her forehead) which cuts of the head and brain from the body she would not heal. Or Drowing? Im just not fully convinced that she is completely unstoppable. Or is the reasons why Syler could not kill her in "The Second Coming" like he did in the Alternate Future is because she is evolving (like not being able to feel pain)? |

| inconsistency? really? the whole point of claire's power, at least initially, was that she could heal from any wound. once the stick was pulled out she healed immediately. she may "die" but she recovers. she's already survived nuclear radiation when she had to tranq ted. adam, who presumably has the exact same power, has been blown up and lived to see another 400 years. in "five years gone" she went through the whole head slicing scene but there was no follow up showing her living or dead, it was simply implied. so... *ahem* |

| Senior Member | You can't kill her, you can incapacitate her though. When the branch went through her neck and into her brain it didn't kill her, it just sort of "shut her down." If she could be killed, she wouldn't be able to come back to life at all. The only way to stop Claire/Adam/Peter/Sylar now is to separate their brains from their body and never let it come into contact again. If she drowned, her body would just push the water out of her lungs once she resurfaces. Also the thing you asked about if they were to be blown to pieces, remember Adam was blown up in the gunpowder tent and he is still alive. They are immortal, and they'll never die. You can though incapacitate them, that's about it though.

Also in Season 3 Peter Petrelli's mom had a dream of some supposed future and in which Claire was dead, and her head had been cut off and it looked like she had stayed dead. I rest my case.

@OP: it's not an inconsistancy, it's just something that Sylar said. It's not the word of God

| What about when Peter exploded at the end of season 1? Wouldn't that presumably have disintegrated his body? He managed to come back from that within a matter of seconds. So I think even if you were able to blow her up, some part of her, maybe even a single cell, would have the ability to regenerate her entire body, right? At least thats what I think the producers have tried to convey... |

| No way....that' stupid....but maybe Peter's body just blew apart.....maybe. Probably not, judging from the future of New York. Damn....it gets harder and harder to follow this show every time I talk to some one....somebody talk me through this. I really want to like Heroes |

In short having a power that hurts you physically would not be much of a power.

| Senior Member | Elle's power hurts her. That radiation thing does hurt those people and when they go nuclear it doesn't blow them up. It just sort of shoots off from their body.

| In that dream Angela had, it showed Claire getting decapitated but that was all of 5 seconds... it didn't show what her body did to try and heal itself after that. Also remember that in an episode in season 2 Claire cut off a toe with some scissors or something and it just grew back so taking her limbs off wouldn't "kill" her |
