Default Heroes at Comic-Con

It was awesome to see so much Heroes stuff at SDCC this year. Hayden was there looking fantastic! I'd post a picture... but my post count isn't high enough yet!

Here's the roundup of press about HEROES at Comic-Con posted by idallia:

A little birdie sent me this list of recent Heroes @ Comic-Con articles to me.
Since I can't take credit for compiling this list, I also can't guarantee that these articles do not contain spoilers. Read at your own risk!

HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

A successful full-episode screening at Comic-Con can help jump-start a show's buzz into the fall season better than any marketing campaign. And for "Heroes," the risk seemed to pay off. Though a rowdy screening of hardcore fans is hardly a typical viewing experience, the post-screening blogsphere buzz about the episode was firmly positive.
VARIETY
http://www.variety.com/article/VR111798959...yid=13&cs=1
NBC rewarded fans of "Heroes" who had camped out the night before to secure a seat for the show's presentation Saturday by screening the first episode of the third season.
TELEVISION WEEK
http://www.tvweek.com/news/2008/07/tv_make...at_comiccon.php
The other big relaunch at the Con was for NBC's "Heroes." Creator Tim Kring rolled the dice by showing the third-season premiere of his show, which took a creative and ratings hit last year. Initial reports are that the gambit worked: Early online buzz from the screening seems positive.
CHICAGO TRIBUNE
http://www.chicagotribune.com/features/lif...0,1187988.story
"Heroes," which returns Sept. 22 after a nine-month break, had the flashiest gift for its most devoted followers: The entire first episode of the show's third season was screened for fans, some of whom had camped out overnight to get into Comic-Con's cavernous Hall H.
NEW YORK MAGAZINE
http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2008/...minator_he.html
Tim Kring screened the entire first episode of Heroes' third season to the panel audience at Comic-Con, and by all accounts the premiere was a vast improvement over last season, launching fan favorites into new quests and challenges almost immediately.
CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER
http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/ind...g_after_60.html
The epicenter of the geek world this past week has been San Diego, host of the dorkapalooza Comic-Con. Everything from comic books to classic anime to mainstream TV hits like "Heroes" and "Battlestar Galactica" is represented. Lots of juicy tidbits, teasers and spoilers. Oh, and costumes. Among the highlights: Geeks of Doom writers got in to see the season 3 premiere of "Heroes." Lucky ducks.
ABOUT.COM
http://movies.about.com/b/2008/07/26/comic...8-day-three.htm
Heroes got the day started off on the right foot by not only bringing the entire cast onstage for a Q&A, but also by screening the entire first episode of Season 3 for the 6,500 Heroes fanatics in attendance (some of whom waited overnight just to see their Heroes heroes in person).
SCREEN RANT
http://screenrant.com/comiccon-08-day-4-wrap-vic-3176/
Today's events included watching the Season 3 premiere episode of Heroes, which was a huge unexpected bonus. It looks like the show is getting its mojo back and if you're a fan you're really going to like it when it returns this Fall.
KNSD (NBC SAN DIEGO)
http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/17008848/detail.html
The hit NBC show "Heroes", which has been off the air for 9 months due to the recent writers' strike, brought the entire cast down for its Saturday panel. People slept in line overnight to get a seat. Those who were fortunate enough to make it inside the panel were treated to a sneak peek at the premiere episode of "Villains."
GEEKS OF DOOM
http://geeksofdoom.com/2008/07/26/sdcc-08-...emiere-episode/
We lucky few (thousand) who made it into San Diego Comic Con's Hall H this morning were treated to the first episode from the upcoming season three of Heroes. And Holy Hell, it was great! The episode is titled Second Coming and it definitely kicks off the new season with an entirely different tone from season two's ambling disarray. The feel of the episode was dark, with nearly every one of the heroes seeming to go against character and making some very questionable decisions... Audience reaction the panel was immense, and especially towards Zachary Quinto, who plays Heroes villain Sylar.
IGN
http://tv.ign.com/articles/892/892959p1.html
Kring had a suitcase handcuffed to his arm, and revealed to the fans that he had with him not just clips, but the entire first episode – suffice to say, this revelation was greeted with a lot of cheering. So how was it? Most likely, fans will be very happy with the Season 3 premiere, which begins the next Volume, "Villains." It's much more fast-paced and intriguing than how the criticized Season 2 began, while staying within the Heroes style.
PREMIUM HOLLYWOOD
http://www.premiumhollywood.com/2008/07/26...ee-heroes-lost/
I'd like to talk more about what I saw, but I simply don't want to ruin the experience. All I'll say for now is that it is mind-blowing, and it's exactly what the series needs after season two was interrupted by the strike. Some cliffhangers are explained and others aren't. New characters with powers are introduced, while older characters reveal new powers of their own. And perhaps most importantly, it's all done with a comic flair that was sorely missing from last year's mini-season.

"Panel....or pep rally? Thousands of Heroes fans packed Comic-Con's largest venue to get the first look at season three before it returns to NBC — after a nine-month-hiatus — on Sept. 22. And when we say first look, we mean a complete 44-minute look: Executive Producer Tim Kring told the 6,000-plus crowd that he not only wants them to be among the first to see the start of Volume III (titled "The Second Coming"), but that he'd also like them to spread the word once they leave San Diego. "Go back and talk about it and say it's better than ever," Kring said... The screening left little time for and a Q&A session, but that didn't stop the entire cast from coming on stage to wave and blow kisses to the fans (one young woman even got a hug from Ventimiglia). The crowd roared, especially since most had been waiting hours for the panel."

BUZZ SUGAR

"First episode of Heroes Season Three screened at Comic-Con. And I got to see it!... The cheering was deafening (I should add that there were some die-hard fans who had camped out overnight to be first in the convention center for this panel; the crowd was enthusiastic, to put it mildly) as Kring pulled out a DVD which he said contained the whole first episode of the next season. And I don't think I was too influenced by all the intense excitement generated by thousands of Heroes fans when I say that I was really impressed with the season premiere. The writing is just better, the pacing is exciting without being way too much stuff at a time, and there aren't like, 64 new heroes. I was sometimes frustrated with the last season, for various reasons, and this episode totally wiped the slate clean. In fact, I have a newly bolstered respect for Heroes. I really think they'll deliver an awesome season, if the premiere is any indication... It was awesome. It was like a spectator sport, but the sport was just watching Heroes. There was even wild cheering for Mr. Muggles, which made me happy. Suffice to say, I look forward to September."
IO9

"The first episode of Heroes season three screened at Comic-Con, and it has as many twists and turns as any three episodes from season two. The show hits the ground running, with a spicy blend of action and theatrics, topped with a huge helping of cheese. It's nothing but Heroes spoilers, after the jump... The Q&A at the Heroes panel wasn't particularly exciting, but it was made up for by the showing of the entire premiere episode, which was pretty much non-stop crazy. Various sites were liveblogging the panel..."

TV SQUAD

"I'll just leave you with this: I gave up early on Heroes last season, and just by watching this episode I think I'm coming back. I think even if you didn't watch Season 2 at all, you can pick right back up again and be blown away. It's definitely a game-changer of an episode, nevermind the season. Hopefully the rest of the season will be as good."

WASHINGTON POST
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/celebritolo...ack_strong.html
"Heroes was, by far, the most electric panel I have attended so far at Comic-Con; like a rock concert when the whole cast took the stage... They were rewarded -- not only with the eye candy that is the "Heroes" cast, but with a screening, in its entirety, of the first episode of the third season. Now, I gave up on "Heroes" last season because the show had gotten so far off track that I couldn't tolerate it anymore. (Hiro traveling back in time? Yawn.) But that episode got me back on board. The show has regained its sense of humor, something that was sorely missed last year... If, like me, you gave up on "Heroes" last season, you may want to reconsider and start watching again come September. The first episode, at least, doesn't disappoint."

LOS ANGELES TIMES
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomple...-con-heroe.html
"Viewership may have fallen, and audience support may have waned, but at Comic-Con, "Heroes" is still as big as as it ever was. It's also still humble. When the cast -- the entire cast -- came on stage to huge applause in Hall H.. It was a great episode, and it should draw back those who've dropped off. It may even bring in new viewers."

E! ONLINE
http://de.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/detai...a7-cc63a42f1443
"Season Premiere Got a Standing O: Okay, not every single person in the room leapt to their feet when the screening of the first hour of the two-hour season premiere concluded, but the response was overwhelmingly positive among the crowd. The first hour, truth told, felt and looked like a movie, and the following sounds were heard from the crowd: "Yeahhhh!!! Whooo!! Oh my god oh my god oh my god!! Duck!!! Noo!!! Get him!! What??! Are you kidding me?!! Oh holy f--k!" and a whole lot of laughter. What I'm saying is, you have every reason to look forward to the season premiere this September, because Heroes is 100 percent back and, I venture to say, perhaps as good as before, if not better than ever. If you don't believe me, ask anyone who was there."

COMIC BOOK RESOURCES

"Fans began lining up for the panel two or more hours prior to the opening of the Hall H doors and were enthusiastic in greeting the "Heroes" crew. Some fans, in fact, carried signs proclaiming 'Milo, we camped out all night for you!'"

SCREEN RANT
http://screenrant.com/comiccon-08-heroes-panel-3168/
"This is the first time that TV show panels have been hosted in Hall H, which is the monster room that sets over 6,000 people. Heroes and Lost have enough of a following here that they've decided to move those panels here... Actually showing the entire third season premiere was a very cool thing for NBC to do for the fans here at the Comic-Con."

MOVIE WEB
http://www.movieweb.com/tv/news/18/30218.php
"Sure, people may have bitched and moaned about last season, but after watching this season premiere, THIS SHOW IS BACK! This new "Villains" season lokos simply amazing... Obviously, I haven't been to every panel on Comic-Con, but this was probably the longest line at the whole Comic-Con and it was THE BEST PANEL YET. They say Saturday is the biggest day at Comic-Conn and it got kicked off in a huge way. Simply amazing, folks. You can see the astonishing Heroes Season 3 premiere on Monday, September 22."

COMING SOON

"Final verdict? "Heroes" Season 3 puts the show back on track and sets up a lot of fantastic storylines for the season."

VARIETY
http://weblogs.variety.com/thompsononholly...-con-heroe.html
"Once it was revealed that the panel would screen the first episode in its entirety, the audience was pretty much reduced to a puddle of shivery fanboy goo. Did it deliver? There were some scrumptious superhero goods, setting a high bar for the upcoming season... Off the hook, indeed."

NEWSARAMA
http://www.newsarama.com/tv/080726-heroes-panel.html
"We were treated to a screening of the season premiere episode of "Heroes", two months early! And if this episode is a good indication of what we can expect, then it looks like the show has regained its footing and returned to the epic storytelling that made it a phenomena in its first year."

MOVIE MORON

"Heroes is back, and I've never really been a fan of the silly VFX and horrible, endless dialog. But I have to admit, the season 3 opener was pretty damn good."
