After witnessing the atrocities that would befall mankind, let alone super-hero kind, in last week's future flashing Heroes “String Theory” one would think that Hiro, no matter how naïve, would have no trouble killing Sylar. Then again, after Heroes' strong showing last week, one would think that there was no chance that Heroes was going to break its streak of nearly perfect serialized television. If you were assuring yourself of both thoughts, you were wrong. This week, “The Hard Part” was realizing that even Heroes, the show, can make mistakes. To read the rest, click here.

Go back to minute 39 when Hiro is being interogated and you learn that he knows he shouldn't kill him then. Do your homework b4 you trash the show.

I thought I might have been the only one who felt that way. I'll admit, I think the faults with the episode bothered me more than you though. I look at today's episode as "the calm before the storm".

I reall thought this episode was going to be a lot better. The scenes with Sylar and his mom could of been a lot better. Also why do they even have to try to make us feel sorry for Sylar? Why can't he just be evil. It seemed a little forced to me.

"the plot advancement was predictable". have you been watching this show, they've been building for this moment for months and in every episode they have been saying it was going to happen so of course you knew it was going to happen. You obviously have one to many chromosomes.

Why do you assume that Sylar has the ability to stop time? Is it not possible that Hiro may have lost his concentration while about to kill Sylar, thus unfreezing time? Remember, Hiro still hasn't perfected his powers.

In a previous episode when Hiro froze time to stop the exploding car, he had a lot of trouble moving the frozen people around. So in this episode, he unfroze time as he swings his sword. Otherwise, cutting Sylar would be like trying to cut a frozen slab of meat. Jim. P.S. It's also rather unheroic to strike down a defenseless man.

About Sylar unfreezing time ... It also appeared to me that what happened there was Hiro simply lost his concentration because he was conflicted about going through with it.
