my opinion yes, it was gory but i don't think it was ever geered toward family viewing. in the first episode, ali larter's charector had stripped in front of the camera, and hayden painterre's charector has got her hand chopped off. i think that was just a taste of whats even more gorey to come. i have to admit though, i had my finger on the remote whenever ali larter's charector comes on. . her charector seems to have the most violence. plus, they had that pg-fourteen thing in the corner. in my opinion the writers/producers did all they could to pre-warn you of what graphic things  were to come.

Does the cheerleader only have rapid cell regeneration? If so, it would still hurt if her fingers got cut off, but she only had a surprised look on her face and none of pain... maybe she has numbness to pain as well....
