I still liked my original idea way back in the beginning that Nikki could actually physically seperate into her two halves - that would have added an interesting twist to things. I mean it's not much of a super power to have multiple personalities LOL (Yes, I know the super strength is her real ability but still - being able to bilocate with your other self would be cool too)

the twins are fraternal twins, I think it means that the power got split in two when they were conceived hence why she can start the power only and he can end it only. Makes sense to me.
