Slyar would have run into Claire before Peter (he was already looking for her and in Texas), he would have killed her, and Peter would have gotten the healing power from Sylar the moment they met so he should not have a scar from Sylar whether he (Peter) saved Claire or not.

actually it doesnt

Peter has absorbed powers FROM Sylar as well. therefore in the oroginal timeline ( where Peter doesnt save the cheerleader ) by the time he encounters Sylar, Claire would be dead and Peter would be able to absorb the regenerative power from him.

Of all the plot holes people point out, this is the one that really has me in its grip.

I don't think it is that big of a plothole, yes Peter has absorbed ONE power from Sylar, the first power Sylar ever took, Telekinesis but we have never seen Peter use any other powers of Sylar, freezing, being able to cut flesh with hand gestures, super hearing, perfect memory or being able to melt metallic objects. Of course I think this can be explained by Sylar having to access and use the power in order for Peter to absorb it and even if he absorbed those powers, who knows if he would ever use them because he doesn't KNOW that he absorbed them. Just like how he logically absorbed his mother's ability, Simone's Father's ability and Eden's ability due to being in such close proximity to them but he may never "discover" he has those abilities tucked inside of him. Which would bring me to the point of Peter would have absorbed Sylar's regeneration ability, only if Sylar would have used it in front of him and its pretty logical to assume that in the original timeline there is no way that Peter could have injured Sylar enough to force Sylar to regenerate. So basically even if he absorbed the power, doesn't mean he could use it.
