| http://www.syfyportal.com/news.php?id=2862 New NBC Series Will Focus On Super Killer The new NBC drama "Heroes" will have a season-long arc involving the hunt for a serial killer with super powers, creator and executive producer Tim Kring told SciFi Wire. "We are bringing in other people with super powers, and they are not necessarily heroes," Kring said. "The show does introduce the concept of a major villain in the second episode, and that villain becomes a sort of a linchpin, a central character for most of the first season." Greg Grunberg plays a Los Angeles cop with psychic abilities and also makes his debut in the second episode. His character becomes involved in the ongoing case through an FBI agent played by Clea DuVall. "He's recruited by this FBI agent, the character that Clea plays," Grunberg said. "They become this team, sort of like a Mulder and Scully of 'The X-Files.' And what's great is that this side of the story -- investigating the villain and trying to figure out who he is, what his motives are, why these people are being affected and what's going on -- what's great is, the audience will have a lot of these questions, and my character is going to discover them and hopefully answer those questions and be the eyes of the audience." The heroes of "Heroes" may not remain good guys, Grunberg warned. "Don't assume that every one of these characters is good," Grunberg said. "That's something so interesting. As actors, co-star Masi Oka and I have had this conversation where we're thinking, 'Are we going to be good? Are we going to realize, "Wow, these powers: They're empowering me to such a way that I can use it for evil purposes?' I mean, we have no idea whether we're going to go good, go bad. It's just so interesting to see what somebody would do given these abilities." "Heroes" premieres on Sept. 25 and will air Mondays at 9 p.m. PT/ET on NBC. The SciFi Channel will air encores of episodes on Friday nights. - Article by Scott Nance |

| My 1st thought after watching this online was...Heroes?? We need villains! Not that I am of the super-evil legion of doom, but you cant have heroes without villains. Really enjoyed the information in the 1st post. On the subject of Heroes later being villains, my 1st choice for that would be the Blonde Mother(i dont know names yet...). I think, tho she might not be an outright villain, her power leads me to believe she could be in many a situation with no way for her to explain the death and carnage around her. Of course thats just a 1st episode thought, and im sure ill change all of my 1st opinions eventually. And this has been my 1st post. Hence the overabundance of.....1st's! Until my 2nd, farewell. 1st = First #1 Numero Uno |

| I'm glad they're bringing in some villans with superpowers, it makes the show more interesting. If they just stuck arounf with HRG, then it probably would have gotten boring. My bet's on Niki for posibly being the first villan too. She seems to have the most outwardly fatal power (as of what we've seen yet), but I have a feeling we might see Nathan pulled into that. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

| Claire's dad has always seemed a bit creepy to me, he has the glare of a supervillian. |

| But I don't think Claire's dad has any powers. Part of what makes a supervillian a supervillian, is exactly that, super-villian. It's self implied that they should have powers, or else they'd just be a normal villian, if you get what I'm saying. | You don't need powers to be a super-villain. First name that pops into mind is Lex Luthor. He's just an evil genius of the human variety. Also, in the movie "The Incredibles" the bad guy was again powerless without his toys. Sometimes, the biggest villains are pure humans. In real life I can think of Hitler and Stalin being in that category. Sorry for getting this discussion a bit heady. |

| ^ Exactly, and what I liked about the story is the first episode told us that Claire's dad is not her biological dad. And not only this, but I'm not even sure if he realizes that Claire does in fact have these super powers. In the spoiler it said she was in trouble and they need to help her, so i hope this means that she will be a good guy, there is still much that can turn around and make the story something else. |

| Maybe we've already met a villian, (maybe Claire's dad, maybe not) but they haven't discovered their powers yet. |

Of course, if it is Claire's dad (if, mind you,) how do we know he doesn't have powers, and we just haven't seen them?? | |
