Milo Ventimiglia Heroes received a lot of criticism for its second season, with many complaining about the series' slow pace, convoluted storylines and lack of focus.  Despite the less-than-stellar reviews, show star Milo Ventimiglia said that ultimately, what matters is that he knows he, along with his costars and the crew, has continuously done his best to do his job.

“You just gotta know that, ultimately, the work that you're doing, the work that you're putting in, it's your best efforts, and it's everybody's best effort,” Ventimiglia told writer Bob “Mr. Media” Andelman.  “That being said, though, all those best efforts have to come together in sync.  Otherwise, the show doesn't have a heart."

There were too many side charactors in this season...such as Maya (damn, I hate her) and others like that. If the writers can just get back to the heart of the show, with the original season one charactors, such as loveable Hiro, Peter, and Sylar, with the very nice new additions such as Ellie and Adam, the season three could be very good. otherwise...they might crash and burn...

I agree with you about Maya. I thought originally that the deadly ooze was going to be the cause of the plague that wiped almost everyone out but since she wasn't, they shoud have just left her dead. Ellie is starting to grow on me. i didn't like her at first. Adam I absolutely love. i had a mad crush on David Anders in Alias and he just keeps getting better.

The first episodes of Second Season were completely lost and boring, then it had a lot of repeated scenes, repeated formulas, as they tried to be good as first season was, and also a lot of "nonsensed" decisions and actions. I felt like they were thinking we are dumb/stupid or something. Even the Graphic Novels were contradicting things we saw in the episodes.

To Third Season, I hope they bring Ali Larter's character back. But, if they keep traveling too much through time and making people reborn with blood, it will be too predictable and I will probably stop watching it because of their lack of creativity.

I LOVE Heroes (a huge part of my day is dedicated to it, and I bought 1st season DVD box), but they are dragging too much in something we've already seen, they are delaying to give us official answers, like what the heck is that helix symbol, how a tattoo appears in a personality and not in the other, and a lot of other questions they act as they don't have to explain to us. And,

(cont.) And, when they do, it is something very easy to figure out. Boring. By the way, is it a drama TV show, a sci-fi TV show or a 'never-will-be-solved-mysteries' TV show? I'd like to add that Adrian and Ali's characters were/are the most adults/grown-up of the series, so, if they leave, what will remain? Cheerleaders and emo-nurses? A teenager show? Please, come on...

I really wish more questions regarding old favorites had been answered. New characters are nice but I don't like it when old favorites get lost in the shuffle.

Also, I really missed Claude in volume 2, and the fact that they'd had a 4 part graphic novel over the summer and had Ivan mention him onscreen, was nice but I also felt it was kind of a tease. I really hope Claude shows up in Volume 3 and I hope they don't bring him back just to kill him off, because that would be awful. As much as I like the core cast from season 1, if they killed off Claude, I probably wouldn't watch any more. I know there are those who feel the same way about the Nathan situation as well.

Lisa,
Thanks for mentioning the Mr. Media interview with Milo! Here's the link if anyone wants to read -- or listen to it -- in its entirety: http://www.mrmedia.com/2007/12/milo-ventimiglia-heroes-actor-mr-media.html

They should just create people with easy to understand powers. Like Super speed and stuff like that, instead of the whole Maya business.

I've said it before, but i'll say it again anyway. i watched volume 2 in its entirety before i started renting the season 1 DVDs, and it hooked me like a heroin addict. i don't feel that is a matter of season 2 (HALF of season 2, actually) sucking, but maybe if i had seen season 1 first my perspective would differ wildly.
i dunno. to me, i look around at what's on TV (network TV OR cable TV) and it all sucks. heroes is the only show i watch regularly thats not an animated satire or faux news. i know everyone has different opinions, but i just can't understand talk of people jumping ship on this show.
i LOVED what i've seen of season 2, i think the problem is that season 1 was possibly the greatest season of any TV show ever. by comparison, pretty much anything would've paled. have faith!
