Let me explain this one more time. Synch has a mutagentic aura that synchs with (not absorbs) the auras of other mutants allowing him to use their powers in proximity. Rouge and Peter both have unstable genetic codes that allow them to absorb the genetic codes of others in order to steal their powers. Peter has been called an empath, which is indirectly linked to the fact that Rouge absorbs the psyche as well. When has Synch ever recalled any powers? (HoM Synch was not real, he was an ideal version of the real one, in an ideal world created by a catatonic lunatic with ill-defined reality warping powrer) Without a mutant present he is essentially a normal teenage boy. And don't bother saying Rouges powers have nothing to do with genetic codes because if they didn't she would be able to absorb energy from non-orgainic things, also when she aborbed the powers of an alien, scanners (genetic and telepathc) and wolverine thought she was an imposter until she used her mutant powers on one of them. Peter is better compared to a mixture of Rouge, and Mimic, Mimic for his range (since I can't seem to convince you that Rouges powers are based on touch due to psychological blocks and underdevelopment, because she had a Ms marvels powers and knew she could keep her true power in check with gloves) and Rouge because she can store more powers in her than Mimic can. Rogue (comics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Quote:
Peter Petrelli is basically a carbon copy of Synch no matter how you argue about the wording. Last edited by Fire(storm) : 06-06-2007 at 06:40 PM.

Rogue, to the world, will always be the girl who could not touch others without absorbing their life force and as a side effect, also their powers. Peter Petrelli does not drain life force, nor does he need to touch(And yes, people associate rogue with the need to touch, not her latest creators fancy). Therefore, Rogue is a poor comparison to Peter Petrelli. Synch just needed to be around others and he gained their powers "While they were around". Just like Peter Petrelli early in the series, without the need of physical contact. The Alternate reality, which explains what would have happened had he lived, showed Synch, like Peter, Gained mastery over his powers. Even Wikipedia agrees with me.

| Could everyone please stop talking about X-men, I compared Peter to Rogue because non-X-men fans would have no idea who Synch was, and because Rogue ahd a similar power and was a much more major character in the Marvel universe than Synch ever was. Secondly my opinion of Peter has somewhat changed since seeing episode 23 a few weeks ago, I wont spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it but I just wanted to say that it was the exact ending I wanted from the show, even if it ended with incredibly annoying cliffhangers. My only qualm was with the "explosion", I guess I just expected something more from the hints throughout the season. |

What we are debating has nothing to do with why you chose to use her, we decided to debate who the best equivilent in the marvel world is to Peter, which in this case, is Synch, no question.
