Katherine HeiglSay it isn't so!  Not really just the prospect of her wanting to leave Grey's Anatomy, but more the indications that success may have gone to Katherine Heigl's beautiful blond head.  Yes, the grapevine was abuzz this weekend with news that the recently-married actress is now itching to leave the series that has catapulted her to critical acclaim and enviable stardom.

According to reports, Heigl, who has experienced success at the box office with her comedic motion picture vehicles, Knocked Up and the more recent 27 Dresses, seems bent on pursuing her big screen career now and believes that she may have outgrown television.  Now when and where have we heard something similar to that before?  Think CSI: Miami's David Caruso when he was the undisputed star of NYPD Blue.

Perhaps she is itching to leave GREYS ANATOMY because the show itself is no longer challenging to her. And with her success in the movies it makes sense that she would want to pursue other pastures...but she needs to work and cooperate with producer of the show that she is contractually obligated to, no doubt.

I hate it when stars get too big for their britches on television. It makes them seem less likable. That said however, this is her life and her career and if she sees something she wants to do with her life, why can't she go for it. David Caruso was ridiculous, turning his back on NYPD Blue after one season, but Katherine is in the fourth season of Grey's now and she may just be ready to move on. She sees a goal she wants to set for herself and wants to go after it. As much as I would hate to see the character go, I respect her decision to want to leave this series.

Katherine Heigl gives off a "too big for her britches" vibe pretty much everywhere she goes.

I really hope that Katherine does not leave the show. I really like her character. I hope she does not decide to leave the show because she had 2 box office hits. Those may be the only two movies that she does that are good. I agree she should try to do more and branch out a little but, she should not leave the show that brought her into the spotlight. That is why they tie in actors for several years, when show becomes a hit they need to know they have them locked in for that lenght of time. Katherine knew this when she signed on and it is whinny now to not only complain but to let the cast down. She has found time to do movie and TV-if she wanted to she will find the time to do both.

I have one thing to say: David Caruso on NYPD Blue. That guy should KISS the ground the CSI people walk on. Think long and hard before you decide to walk away from television. Her movies may have done well at the box office but they're not exactly critically acclaimed either. She's young - might wanna hold off just a little bit more than 3 seasons on a hit show.

^^ Amen to that. I couldn't believe it when he left NYPD. Hopefully Katherine thinks long and hard about her decision and what leaving Grey's will mean. I mean, George Clooney did alright when he left ER, but you never know. Especially if an actor starts to seem really unlikeable as aperson. You stop wanting to see them in their movies and thats setting yourself up to completely bomb.
