George is the one who laid down on the floor with her when Denny died. George is the one she called when she needed to hear Denny's message after his death, george not Alex because she knew george was the one who could make her feel better. He dumped a hot night with Callie for it. George is the one who helped her with Hannah and through the bone marrow transplant. George is the one who convinced her to call her mom when she needed it. And Izzie was there for him too, holding his hand when his dad was sick, cooking all night for him and cleaning the bathroom floor so he could lay on it if she needed to. george is the one she would go to every night, sleeping in his bed when she felt bad. George is the one to which she confessed in 4.6 she felt inferior to Cristina and not hard-core and when he said she was, her whole face lit up the whole room. Compare that to her reaction when Alex made the same comment, a friendly nice smile, but not a smile thta brightens up the room like she gave G

In fact, she never smiled or lit up as much as she does with George. He is her best friend, her person, her soulmate, the one person she cannot l;ive without, her own words in 4.8, she needs him. She does not need or love Alex. She might brifghten him up, but he does not brighten her up. george does.

You know what? I would not care if Alex was a saint and the guy who loved Izzie the most. I still hate them. They have absolutely zero chemistry together and watching them together is the most painful, uncomfortable experience in the world. I will quit the show if they are explored again. I had to choke back vomit watching them last episode. And the thing is Izzie does not love Alex, something both Shonda and Katherine have repeated many times over. George has her heart and soul, and George is the one with which she has magical chemistry with. He makes her so deliriously happy. Look at how she reacts at the mere thought of losing George, she cannot stand it. The I have to let you go scene was so intense and ehartbreaking, they both hanged on for dear life and did not want to let go and just holding him, she started crying. It was so clear she hd fallen madly in love with him then. They have a connection that is unrivaled in all TV.

As for opening up to each other, George and Izzie do it all the time, with Bailey, he is the only one who knows about Hannah. He has her mom,s phone number dialed-in for goodness sake and she knows everything baout him. Also george and Izzie can express so much love, just pure total love with one look at each other, take the linen closet scene, no other couple could express so much love and desire without saying a single word. But here is why Katie wants George and Izzie together in her own words: I really believe in [Izzie] and George. There are moments where you see them together and I'm like, 'See that's why' - because there is such pure joy for her to be around him. -Katherine Heigl on Gizzie

I HATE Alex and Izzie and always have, even before I was a Gizzie fan. I had not expected to love Gizzie or had not even thought of them that way but now looking back, it was always obvious and they always acted like a couple, their jealousy when they went out with someone else, the way they would notice everything about each other when nobody else did, their emotional connection and love and desire to be near each other all the time. The way they would flirt. They just fit, they just make sense and they are magical. Seems everyone either adores or hates those two, but they def. leave noone indifferent. And the people who love George and Izzie, and there is so many of us who do, really really love them more than anything and most of us watch for them. The haters, they watch for other things, but we watch for them, and the George and Izzie fans are loyal for life to their couple. I know I will never stop fighting for them. i will always love them, they are just impossible not to love.

I can tolerate Alex and Izzie but think george and Izzie are SO SO SO much better. Alex and Izzie are fine, but george and Izzie are wonderful and make me smile more than any couple. When I have a bad day, I watch their scenes and feel better, so Gizzie forever!

I am so glad that they will resume production if the WGA strike a deal. I really did not want the season to end with that episode.

at first i didn't like the idea of george and izzie- when i was just reading rumors and what not, but when it actually happened i loved it. i liked the way they interacted when they realized they were in love but it was wrong, and i kinda wanted it to work out. i liked alex and izzie the first time around, but geeeeeeez there are only so many times they can all keep doing the rounds with each other. i just want meredith and derek to be back together with the same chemistry as first season without all the mer issues.

I adore George and Izzie, they are the only reason I am still hanging on to the show. I used to like Alex and Izzie until I realized they were like a Mcdonald hambuger, good at first but then tiresome and without flavor. George and Izzie are like a great fine steak, always wonderful and full of taste.
