'Grey's Anatomy' Actor Named Star of the Year by People

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has been named “Star of the Year” by People magazine. The 41-year-old actor received the top honors for having had a great year on and off screen.

Dempsey, who plays Dr. Derek Shepherd on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, graces the cover of the magazine's year-end issue, which features the best – and worst – of 2007.

This year, Dempsey further gained fame for his work on the successful medical drama, as well as for portraying single father and divorce attorney Robert Philip on Disney's hit film, Enchanted. Off screen, Dempsey welcomed twin boys, Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick, whom his wife, Jill Fink, gave birth to earlier this year.

Well that is no suprise to me. He is like the hottest guy alive!!!!!!!!!

He is hot in looks and he s like on the I guess #1 SHOW, but I think people making him numbero uno is just ass kissing . They do things for money and put people on the cover with someone hot to sell their magazine. If they had been a class act, then they should have put pictures of our soldiers in Iraq and made them the real people who right now are doing something for our country and safety. They should have had a soldier representing each of our 50 States.

He deserves to be called the star of the year. i have been a loyal fan of his since day one of his publisized career. And has always been # 1 in my eyes even when he was on his hiatas from the film industry. Congradultions patrick. You deserve the best. ~Tammy~ your most loyal fan
