Grey's Anatomy: Episode 4.8 "Forever Young" Recap

T.R. Knight, D.B. Woodside, Chandra Wilson

Previously on Grey's Anatomy, Derek (Patrick Dempsey) realized that he needs to start dating, George (T.R. Knight) and Izzie (Katherine Heigl) had bad sex, Meredith's dad Thatcher (guest star Jeff Perry) was drunk.

Tonight's Grey's Anatomy is all about growing up. Or, not growing up, as the title suggests. Derek and Halfrek (Kali Rocha) open the episode by having drinks at the Emerald City Bar. As if they are in a high school cafeteria, this catches the attention of everyone else around. Meredith glowers at them from across the bar.

I can't decide what loved more: Lexie's speech or Bailey's. They both ruled tonight, and Chandra Wilson delivered big time in her final scene. I think I love Lexie so much because I hate Meredith, and Lexie is always putting her in her place. But this episode brought up the thing I hate most about TV: pretty people saying they were ugly in high school. Sorry, but I will never ever buy Katherine Heigl or Patrick Dempsey as ever being anything less than supremely popular and ultra hot. Shut up, Derek, and let Bailey have her moment! Also, I'm pleased to see Cristina leading the poll. Sure she's a girl, but I still voted for her.

It was very disconcerting to see Bailey acting like that, glad she's snapped out of it. She's given a few emmy worthy performances this season. And it was so good to see Callie back on track and the continuing friendship between her and Christina.

Editor: I didn't mind so much that Izzie and Derek weren't popular in high school. Izzie wasn't popular because she was the poor trailer park girl, but because she was ugly. And Patrick Dempsey did look pretty dorky in Can't Buy Me Love, so I can totally see him as a band geek. :P

I was going to have the same response to the EDitor- Patrick Dempsey wasn't all that hot back in high school- he actually married a 40 something old woman when he was like 19 or 20

I think George and Izzie will pull through. I mean they have to. They are Izzie and George. I mean George and Callie have had a lot more problems than George and Izzie. Anyway I am so sick of Dr. Haun. She walks arounds like she is all that like she owns the place. I am glad to see Meredith and Derek back on track. What was up with that whole Sidney thing. I can't beleive that she dumped him. Who would ever dump someone as hot as him.
