We all know the story.  Sandra Oh's character on Grey's Anatomy, Cristina Yang, was affected by the behind-the-scenes scandal involving her on-screen beau Isaiah Washington.  ABC and Shonda Rhimes decided to eviscerate Washington from the cast and therefore end the on-screen relationship between his Dr. Preston Burke and Cristina.  The final episode of Grey's Anatomy's third season ended with the botched marriage of those characters and Cristina is going to find herself alone at the outset of season 4.  So, where does she go from here?

Getting rid of Preston was a big mistake as he was the most true character on the show. The others all have silly sides to them but he is believable (along with Miranda of course).

lackluster? oh yeah, and that is being kind. however Cristina/Sandra was amazing and carried the last episode. also agree that getting rid of Preston was a major mistake.

i hated the storyline in the last few episodes around merediths family and mer/der, it just seems mer is depressed all the time! what happened to the mer in the 1st season! bring her back and get her and dereks relationship back on track!

Lackluster is actually very generous!!!! It sucked is what it was....anyways, I saw the Cristina/Burke breakup coming so it was no surprise eventhough I thought it would have been her who left him standing so you have to actually take your hats off to the writers for the excellent work they did breaking them up and the final scene with Cristina was truly a grammy/emmy/whatever awards you can give moment for Sandra Oh...she was fabulous....and I think she is the only reason that I may consider seeing the 1st episode of the season. Originally, I was adamant but now that my anger has boiled over and cooled down I may be willing to give it one try....I don't know we'll see on Sept. 27th how I'm feeling...I'm not sure I want to continue being disappointed but I guess I'm granting the benefit of the doubt based on the excellent work the writers did in season 1 & 2. If I could just get over season 3 then maybe grey's would continue being the reason to get through the week to Thursday....oh

personally,i think the show is going to take a major hit in popularity due to the christine/burke relationship, their was a dymanic there that along w/ the merideth/mcdreamy relationship was the driving force behind the sub plots of the show, its my belief abc made a error in judgement that will come back to haunt them this season. i'm not going to go into detail, but making a person jump thru hoops and then letting them go is an act of vindictivness. i'm not condonning what was said but their was a family atmosphere to the ensamble cast almost like star trek you grw familar with them, felt comfortable in watching, it made you care? families will argue and sometimes fight but they don't stop being family? it is and was a major reason for me watching the show, now christine has no love interest to give her balance? and the only person who could pull that off was preston burke they made a very dynamic and interesting couple despite the season ending episode. if abc had any guts and forw
