Sigh. George and Izzie were saddled with a disaster of a cheating storyline. The pairing itself is wonderful. TR and Katherine have great chemistry and clearly bring out the best in each other. Plus, the focus group was rigged, and I say that having been a part of it. There were quite a few people who knew each other there and who were similarly minded (at least more than 20 of 200 that I knew of).

Last year was successful?? From an Emmy standpoint maybe, but the Emmy's have become increasingly irrelevant. They glob onto old favorites for two long and fail to recognize new comers (e.g. Friday Night Lights). From a viewer perspective last season was a debacle. The writers you praise so gloriously have some work to do to draw me back in. Another season like last and I'll be long gone.

Gizzie and MerDer are the best things on the show, especially Gizzie. Hope those rumors are not true or it would break my heart.

I posted this on another site where I read this story originally, but wanted to put it here as well.

Seriously, who wrote this piece? WHAT A SPIN job. Last season was not only largely disliked by fans, but by critics as well. As far as the Emmy's, most do not agree with voters choices as they think thye are not in touch with what is strong in any given season, so I'm not even going to try to tell you why the Emmy nods this year (as always) don't hold much weight as far as fans and critics are concerned.

The show failed last year, THOUSANDS of fans have been writing everywhere to voice this as well as articles and net news by critics have been voiced. Evey major couple, story and character was beaten down to the lowest they could go to. Meredith (lead character on the show) was brought through a "shark jumping" three parter only to have the WRITERS let her learn nothing from it. Her break up with Derek was disastrous. Don't blame fans for caring. Even Ellen Pompeo voiced herself

to NZ TV Guide she thought the three parter was more to take attention off the back stage fighting than for anything legit. The Meredith and Derek characters are the most popular couple on the show, and the writers reduced them to a couple on a really bad episode of Saved by the Bell. If they are held by rubber bands, blame the WRITERS. Plain lazy writing for two actors who have built in chemistry and a HUGE fanbase. All they needed was strong writing and guess what? None of that was to be found. Fans have every right to be angry. Shonda & Co. failed us plain and simple. Purely bad writing for the sake of ratings, nothing more.

There's a REASON the writers were not nominated for Emmy's this year. Show creator Shonda Rhimes has made every excuse possible for the poorly written season (including dismissing the die hard fans) Not smart Shonda, even LOST writers and creators acknowledged mistakes in their second season and in season three both fans and critics noted the g

great changes to the show, but not Shonda. The blame game seems to be her call and she admits nothing. Shame. If you can't see where you failed and take at least some of the blame, you cannot look to fans for wanting to bail if we see the new season does not get any better.

You can blame the characters, you can blame the fans, you can blame the critics, spin off show, departures of lead characters or the weather conditions in your state, but in the end, the blame is solely on Rhimes & Crew, and in the end, if nothing changes, it will be HER to blame when the fans exit. But please DO NOT "spin" your love for this show in your articles. We love it too, but we got dumbed down last season and it won't happen again this seaon I promise you. There's too much really great competition out there. Cheat the fans again, and we'll look elsewhere.

I love George and Izzie together, and I hardly think they are disastrous. As for George, I find him more attractive than McSteamy and Alex put together. He has something so sweet and wonderful about him.

In a past writers blog they said that fans have some say in thing that happen in the show but they have no say in the major stroylines. So if Shonda wants Gizzie there is going to be Gizzie they will just fix it in a way where people start to like it more. Meaning the adultry will stop. I for one love Gizzie with all my heart and do not understand why critics don't like them. Is it because he is married or because they didn't jump each other the moment they saw each other? Or are all of the cristics big A/I fans and think that that was the greatest relationship on the show because i have to ask which part was better when he cheated on her or when she used him for sex then treated him like crap and left him for Denny? George and Izzie have something deep and they have amazing chemistry (closet scene anyone?) And so i have to remind you guys that your precious Derek was married when he slept with Meredith(and i mean the prom sex). How is this different. That's all i have to say. Gizzie 4
