If there is one show out there that can take down The Sopranos for Outstanding Drama Series, it's Grey's Anatomy.  That's according to visitors to TheEnvelope.com, a site with a well established history of tracking and reporting on finite trends and practices within the awards show industry.  Can a gang of melodramatic doctors from Seattle take down the mafia?

While no one knows for sure, one thing to point out is there is a big difference between being closest to beating, and actually beating The Sopranos.  As TheEnvelope's Tom O'Neil has pointed out, the formula for winning the category is embedded in the DNA of the voting rules and the idiosyncrasies of the voters.

I think if grey's wins, it will make up for Ellen and Patrick not being nominated for the emmy.Goodluck grey's we really need this to restore our faith back.

Umm...

Those folk who think Grey's Anatomy can beat the Sopranos really need to stop smoking crack. I doubt the show will ever win Best Drama Series as long as there is quality shows on TV, and it especially does not deserve to win after this year's iffy season.

Seriously!

After such a screwed up season (season 3), Grey's can't win.
The writers have burned the house down, lost great actors and killed the Merder chemistry.
You cannot win an emmy on a dead show.Seriously!
I wish I'd be right and that grey's get would get no emmy at all this year so that Rhimes realized her mistakes.

To all those people who dont think greys anatomy should win i respect that but i also think your reasons arent the best, i mean yes season 3 hasn't been the best but surely greys has earned this purely on season one and two? And when you look at the other shows it is up against with exception to the sopranos, how can't they win. The sopranos is an amazing show, it always has been and always will be, but i think it is passed its used by date. It doesnt even air on free to air in Australia anymore. I think its time for something new to break through and take the award and i think greys anatomy is the show to do that. I think both ellen and patrick should be nominated because they arent the ones who chose the dodgy storylines between mer/der but they still acted it out exceptionally well. We already know 'a change is coming' in the new series of greys and hopefully it will bring the show back to the level it was in the first two seasons. I love greys anatomy and i want it to win the emmy.
