It's not a surprise.  Every year, the minute the Emmy nominations are unveiled, the second guessing immediately commences.  Some complaints are warranted, some aren't.  Ultimately, what can you do?  This year, however, I found the Grey's Anatomy nominations, and subsequent fan reaction, to be quite intriguing.  The show picked up four acting nominations, a Best Drama nod, and zero writing credits.  Three of the acting nominations were in one category (Best Supporting Actress).

We posted an analysis of the Grey's Anatomy Emmy situation yesterday, and our readers responded voraciously with their opinions.  The biggest topic of discussion: the snubs of Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo.  Here's what our readers thought about Grey's Emmy nominations.  Feel free to put forth you opinion in the comments section below.

Pompeo is a weak link. There's no way she should have been nominated. Very pleased Reaser was nominated.

I agree Pidge, Ellen Pompeo is the WORST part of this show by far. Her blank stares and lack of any kind of emotion or range kind of puts her out of an Emmy nod.

Sandra Oh on the other hand, she should be handed the statue right now. The scene was beautiful, and heart-breaking. The line, "I'm free...dammit." should be what wins her the trophy alone.

And no writing noms, c'mon now, the writing is stellar, just some actors perform it rather like a piece of wood.

And I would just like to bitch about Lost not getting nom'd for nearly anything...again, after submitting possibly their best episode ever with Through the Looking Glass. Bull!@#!@.

You two above that is so not nice, ellen tries her best to act the way meredith is suppse to be. I think she deserves more credit for that. I just dont get what this woman has done to so many people to deserve such negativity, why all the hatred? it makes you wonder. Katie, sandra and chandra are very good actresses and they deserve what they get but does is ellen pompeo. I think its more tough when it comes to the best actresses category and those actresses nominated are good and more experienced than ellen. I also think its partly shonda's fault, i mean its difficult to act when there is notting to act for but to look sad and missirable all year round. I am very disappointed on so many different levels

If Heigl gets a nomination why not Ellen Pompeo??? That's my only question! Pompeo prove that she can act this season 3 and if Heigl deserves to be nominated and so do Pompeo...end. of. rant.

Ok, I think Sandra and Chandra deserves the nods, but ddefinately not TR or Heigel. They both can't act. I thnk Ellen should've gotten a nomination, but not Patrick. i agree that the writers have given up on Meredith and Derek, and haven't we all. I mean after 3 seasons of never ending misery(even after they'd gotten together) is seriously repetitve, and annoying.

Ellen Pompeo was snubed, and overlooked AGAIN!. If anyone saw her in Moonlight Mile and the other movies she did, but mostly Moonlight Mile you would know how good an actress she is. Dustin Hoffman himself said so. In Grey's Anatomy she does an amazing job in portraying who Meredith Grey really is as the Writers write her to be. She can act with no words and have it be an amazing scene.

I am sad and shocked she didn't get the nomination she deserves, its about time someone noticed her amazing acting. Isn't it enough her fanbase is grwoing like crazy all over. She does a wonderful job in making the people watch Grey's Anatomy and want to come back for more. They all do. their work together is making Grey's one of the best shows out there.

Again she fell in a tough group. If Ellen was in the supporting she would be nominated and most likely win. But her Leading catagory is one tough group. But I feel it wasn't done right, the way they picked this years leading ladies, something i

something isn't fair about it.

Ellen deserves some decent kind of credit to her name. She worked hard enough to earn it. Someone award her for it already.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this years Golden Globes.

And I hope after all this, the writers of Grey's Anatomy give Ellen more screen time and better story lines. Because she can definately do wonders, and be excellent at it.

I really think Ellen deserves an emmy for her beautiful acting this year despite the awful dialogue that was written for her. Meredith on moraphine, her confrontation with her mother etc. I also think it is interesting that Miss Shonda didn't get a nod. Wasn't she queen of the writing world last year? Shonda its a wake up call! Get back to writing for us not you.
