grey's anatomyNowadays, there are a number of television series, which are popularly known for their medical drama plot like Grey’s Anatomy, ER, General Hospital and House. These shows have showcased various medical conditions and diseases, which have positively educated viewers to the unfamiliar. And since television has become a very powerful tool in influencing and promoting awareness, real life doctors and health experts are now getting involved with TV scriptwriters to correctly add a dose of education to entertainment.



According to a survey conducted by a public relations company called Porter Novelli, majority of the viewers have reportedly learned something about a disease from a daytime or prime-time drama series. Given the findings, government health officials, advocacy groups and academic physicians are now using television to effectively get across medical information to millions of viewers.
