You guys are nutty. It was realistic for the first time ever. Talk about a 360 degree turnover for the show. While 'Private Practice' started its first hour as the most immature and awkward arrival ever..the finale for Grey's Anatomy hints at the most 'real' and mature the show has ever been. With all this disaster and depression, you still have the realization that it has all ended. All the storylines have met their demise..and yes it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. But let's face it..Shonda Rhimes isn't out writing these episodes to pull the wool over your reality that you escape to watch her own reality on Grey's Anatomy. She's in it for the long-haul not just for the prime entertainment. This show has definitely fit the mood of the entire season and sets up for the 4th season on an entirely CLEAN slate. For all the characters involved. I'm looking forward to seeing what Rhonda has planned for next year. It finally feels as if Grey's has matured and has moved on to a higher (if no

My last comment got cut off. *ba%@ard* :]

For all the characters involved. I'm looking forward to seeing what Shonda has planned for next year. It finally feels as if Grey's has matured and has moved on to a higher (if not happier) path. With all things in life comes experience..and the finale for Grey's has been for me (as well as the characters) an experience to remember. Don't kick 'em when they're down!

Seriously? Seriously! Whatever damage control the previous comment is trying to pull, just give it up. You'd obviously have to be employed by Shona Rhimes' PR rep. to write a positive review about that finale. Or that entire season, for that matter. The show is sinking so quickly into the soap opra underworld that even the most true fans are jumping ship. And it's not that we have an overwhelming sense of entitlement to a happy ending; it's just too depressing to watch a show that started out with such brilliantly dark humor stray so far from its roots. The show has become too dependent on these ridiculously morose cliff-hanger endings to draw in an audience....Enough is enough.

Good luck to the producers of Grey's Anatomy. The overdose of melodrama was just too much for this Grey's fan. Perhaps the producers and scriptwriter should go for therapy......

Truly depressing ending. Ok, Burke and Cristina, maybe it was expected, and I do like her cry out of freedom in the end. But Meredith and Derek??? What on earth is going on there? He is acting like a little spoiled brat, running around feeling sorry for himself and letting himself get hit on by Meredith's sister! I mean, come on!!! What happened to "I will always be there for you?" Mer has gone through hell the last few episodes, between drinking problems, almost dying, losing her mother, then her step mom, getting slapped by a dad she is trying to gain the acceptance of, and what has Derek done? Oh, just been hiding on the side, moving back into his trailer, and feeling sorry for himself that his girlfriend is not perfect.

I am really disappointed! I looked forward to Grey's every Thursday. Now I don't even know if I want to watch anymore. It is heading for a "Days of Our Lives" style soap spin off, and that just is not my cup of tea.

Get new writers!

Shonda more "than burned it to the ground." She buried these very talented actors. PLEASE, writers, give these wonderful actors good storylines. The finale was awful. I can only hope the writers get back in sync, this summer, and bring back the old Greys (humor, life, love) that made the show so wonderful to begin with.

Yeah, that's a new one on me..."burning your characters into the ground, so you can start fresh???" I think the writers were flat out of ideas for these wonderful characters that they've turned into sad, whiny, self-absorbed people! I know Mer has had problems...Almost all of us come with some baggage, & with HER family, she does have issues that need addressing. I could NOT believe Derek stood there, poured out his heart to her, & she turned (with this blank look on her face),& walked back to Christina!!! As for the others, too much to mention! I think it's about time to start addressing some of ALL of their issues. Hopefully, crashing & "burning" will be a new start!
Not sure I'll be watching next year. It's gone beyond daytime soapy for me!

Awful describes it best. Sad and depressing. . .may do me in for Grey's and I've seen every episode (most more than once). Plus I have the DVDs. Feels like a waste of lots of time.

Total Grey's Anatomy Fanatic here and I haven't been in so much suspense....Do I hate the fact that all the charecters are in a sad limbo state? OF COURSE! but that is the beauty of Grey's. This show wouldn't be as popular as it is if Christina and Burke had their happily ever after, if George left Callie for Izzie and Meridith and Derek worked out all their stuff in the season finale.....Then everyone would be complaining that there was no drama.
I would rather live in suspense this summer than to be disappointed with nothing to look forward to and have the season end with happy goo.

It was truly awful. And next season doesn't look much better. Lexie Grey? Seriously? I hate her already. I doubt I'll be watching next season. Shonda really screwed over her fans.
