Grey's Anatomy SpoilerLast night gave us the two-hour spin-off episode for the new Kate Walsh medical drama.  I've always liked Addison as a character, and am confident that she can hold her own as the main character of a popular show.  I'm still skeptical as to the kind of audience her show will receive.  The cast is good (Taye Diggs and Tim Daly are solid veterans), but I fear that the show will always be compared against Grey's Anatomy, and likely in an unfavorable manner.  We'll see next season.

The reaction to last night's spin-off has been largely favorable, as far as I can tell.  This bodes well.  Now, there are only two more episodes left in Grey's season, and we've got some spoilers for the penultimate episode set to air next week, entitled “Testing 1-2-3”.  The spoilers are provided, as always, by the Don Nelson of spoiler gathering, Isabelle of SpoilerFix:

This was quite possible the worse episode of Grey's ever. The feedback I have seen online has been one of unanimous disdain for the boring plot, cheesy script and unfortunate decision to start the rocky descent of one the best shows on TV.

Grey's is heading down hill. The characters might as well have some massive orgy and call it a day. As for the spin-off, although different and a little cliche, it was refreshing. Addison was amazing as always and her interaction with the other characters, particularly Naomi, seemed natural and funny. The sex was a little too much and the patients were a little absurd, but again, Addison tied it all together. Back at SG, nothing really happened, save for the barf-inducing Izzie/George elevator scene.

I agree the spin off was not what I anticipated. Go back to improving the original....that I loved in the beginning, & forget anything else for a while! I'd like Addie to stay put for a little while longer. I'm also getting tired of the Izzie/Geo thing....& am disappointed in Izzie...he's MARRIED....get a grip, & move on!
Also was a little upset that Mer's stepmother died, & her father not only blamed her, but HIT her....I'd hoped for some kind of relationship developing there...maybe just friends, but certainly not the way it ended up last night. All in all, TWO disappointing shows.

I concur with Jasmin. I don't know where you get your "feeling thermometer" reading.

I absolutely hated the spinoff. great cast, but addison fits better on greys and that show needs some major improvement. this season has been a major disappointment

The spin-off was not boring, in fact it held much more drama and funny moments than Greys. I'm sure a lot of fans would admit that Greys has been going downhill for a little while now and i personally loved the new atmosphere that the new show had. Its going to do very well if it launches. However Integrating with Greys is probably the worst decision ABC has ever made. See how the comments fans made has either been i hate it or i love it? theres just isn't a in-between if you integrating with another show. The people who loved the old Greys would simply hate the spin off because they don't want anything to change. But all in all, the show was not boring or disastrous. It was well put together, the casting was great and the chemistry was undeniable.
