Lisa: Wrong. Her pay should be what she agreed to on the contract she signed her name to.

The decision for the spinoff was likely made by numerous people who apparently agreed that Kate Walsh/Addison was the person most capable/talented of being able to carry a show on her own. No one's going to bankroll anything less than what they believe is the best chance for success. She earned it. She came in for four episodes and just about stole the show away from all the other actors - who are all good - just not as good as her. Her reaction shots alone are better than anyone else delivering dialogue. Heigl will have to serve out the contract she signed unless she'd like to become persona non grata in Hollywood. Cripes, they all sound like a bunch of spoiled, self-absorbed 5 year olds on the playground. Personally, I think Heigl is a little overrated as an actor, but apparently Izzie is the "blonde next door" that appeals to lots of fans. And Meredith? The "damsel in distress" that men want to save or the "victim" they'd like to manipulate. The mark of a great actor is not "over t

I'll miss Kate Walsh/Addison and think it's silly to eject her to a spinoff, a mistake. She's part of the show's chemistry. No reason for this separation.

I absolutely love Addison and Kate Walsh! She is my favorite character on the show and I would hate to see her leave. I believe she is an important ingredient. But if she has a spinoff, I'll watch it.
As for Izzie - she is getting on my nerves. But I'd hate to see her go. As for Heigl, she's important to the cast - not the best Grey's has to offer, but she's good.

seriously l have dislike katherine helgl when he publicly attacked isaiah over the TR gay slurs.l am not saying what isaiah did was right,but he apologised and should be forgiven.for katherine to be targeting an asian american and a african american over salary increament question her racial orientation.
this is a liberal show and a large diverse cast.if she feel uncomfortable working with people of different ethnic background then the door is opened,she should leave for all i care.l can,t stand racism.

In my opinion, Heigl has nothing to complain about. I don't think she's a believable as Izzie at all; Heigl is in no way in the same league as Kate Walsh. I actually think the spin-off is not that bad an idea. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Also, I agree with Anon. Make up your mind, Oscar:
" "Losing Kate Walsh is already a big blow as far as I'm concerned" ... "As much as I also like Walsh, the show isn't going to suffer that much with her gone." So which is it, Oscar? Big blow or not? "

Would someone please tell Katherine to be happy she has job?? She's never been nominated for an award as an individual performance from this show, as have Chandra Wilson & Sandra Oh. Who really cares if she's disappointed or not!? She has a contract; end of story. After her self-centeredness with this issue, ABC should really consider writing her out of the show once her contract expires. Until then, Katherine, just shut your mouth and do your job!

Wow ppl really do blow things way out of proportion.. so she feels she deserves more money.. big deal. She doesnt want to leave the show she just wants the same respect that all the other actors are getting. All ppl ask for raises and seriously going into the racism aspect is just pathetic. We dont know what happened behind closed doors so we cant judge.

aLL CAST MEMBERS SHOULD BE PAID THE SAME JUST LIKE FRIENDS DID. MAKES FOR BETTER WORKD ALL AROUND.

I watch the show to see all the characters and how they interact with each other. That is the show - the lives of all these people! I think the spin-off is a horrible idea. And Katherine should be paid an equal and fair amount.
