I think that making merideth die is a total shocker, But it's no suprise that their bringing her back. They sould actually make her stay in te heaven scene for a while than have a mirile appen. I mean come on , at least for 2 episodes. My opinion:good show , not so great event line

She is in hypothermia and so it slows down all of her vital systems so she can be down longer than if she were at regular body temperature. It is very predictable that they will bring her back.

Will she be brought back alive? I'm thinking the show would lack a certain credibility if that were the case. I'm going for the premise that Meredith will narrate as dead Meredith; much like whatsherface on Desperate Housewives...

She definitely won't narrorate dead, that would be very stupid, she is going to come back obvi..but more importantly, the show has lost all credibility in my eyes considering they pulled an afternoon soap opera heaven scene! what was that all about?! i mean seriously!

Well, here's the thing--it was a hypothermic drowning which is technically the kind of drowing one would 'want'--the cold water slows down the body's functions and it's much more possible to revive people who have drowned in frigid water than in tepid. Also, she most likely wasn't under water for too long before Derek got her, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to find an grab her body from the water, and the oxygen circulating in her blood would have kept her brain going for at least part of the time she was under, and then the CPR got blood pumping and oxygen flowing again as well. I think she'll be fine.

I think its great that Meredith is alive, i mean lets face it, Greys Anatomy is nothing without her. I think they way the writers did the 'drowning scene' was very clever and credible. They made it seem as if Meredith was under the water for ages before Derek dived in for her. Yet she was in just long enough to survive. I think by the end of the episode everyone had lost hope that meredith would return, which i am guessing was the writters aim. However i think the most impacting moment was in the last couple of scenes where Mark walks up to Derek and simply puts his hands on his shoulder, meaning so much, and when Izzie says to the rest of the interns - she will come through this, i beleive Meredith will survive, i beleive in the good, i beleive denny is still with me, and i believe that believing that we survive is what makes us survive.
