I like the character of Dr. Burke more then any other in Grey's Anatomy! The troubling surgeon brings a lot to the award winning drama. Tall, handsome, very skilled, genious and troubled... like a real dream. Without him the series is worthless!

As an African American woman, I think it great to see African Americans in a positive light on a TV show. I do not watch the show but I hear great things about it. To have three African American physicians on the show is history. If they fired Dr. Burke, I am sure the show will not be the same. I still believe Dempsey said something f-up to I. W. and I. W. had to put his ass in check. We have all made mistakes and I. W. is not exempt. I totally disagree. I think I. W. is an excellent actor. If he plays the role of thinking he is God and his sh*t doesn't stink, he has mastered what most real physicians act like in real life. Some physicians can be assholes and jerks. I. W. has apologized. I don't think its right that he is receiving all this blacklash. Get over it people and let it go.

Are you blind? Do you not see how influential Preston Burke is to the entire show? He affects Cristina who affects Meredith who affects Derek. He is important. He is necessary, and just because he isn't a weak, pathetic character like the others (ex. Derek, Addison, or Meredith) does not make his worthless. I suggest you open you eyes and truly watch Greys Anatomy because from what I CAN SEE, you are missing the best part.

what in the hell are u talkin about ???....i wonder how he made the worthless character list....i do agree with the rest on the list but him...he is a great actor...and his role made the show...i totally don't understand this mcdreamy stuff..because he is the one tht made the show...so just put a sock in it...be careful wht u wish for..because it will never come true...if he is off the show the show will be history...just my opinion.."it's HIS-story"

Burke is one of the best characters! He is my favorite- if he leaves-----there is no one right Cristina! Burke is unpredictbale on the shop. He is a character who shows strength and compassion. IN MY BOOK, he is one of the BEST if we are judging his character on the show and not his personal life.

Well, I was trying to create a common trait of all those TV characters you singled out as "worthless". I must state that I found it hard do so. You choice of Chen is right on the money. Paula Abdul is also accepatable. But Burke? As the proverbial Karev would say, "dude, what have you been smoking?".

While Isiah Washington's acting chops slip at times, he is perfectly cast for the role. A physically imposing, self-concious, egotistical actor who protrays a lot of himself in Burke. He is very believable.

My pronoucement about your pronoucement is that your choice of Preston Burke as the #5 "worthless" tv character is just as worthless. But it is your choice, your distaste. Your clearly do not dig Isiah, or Burke. As the Latin adage goes, "gustus non es desputandum". Taste is not a matter of dispute.

WTF? Get rid of Dr. Burke? He is one of the best surgeons. Do you realize Burke is probably the only character who doesn't whine! He is also one of the only characters who do not commit adultery; he is with one girl only!! And he is one of the only gentlemen on the show. No offence to other characters because I love them all and every one of them has a huge part in the success of GA, most deffinately including BURKE!
