Grey's Anatomy: The Truth Serum

Last night's Grey's Anatomy was a pivotal one, for the characters and the general direction that the show will take this season. The "Is Meredith Pregnant?�? angle that ABC has been pimping all week was obviously misleading. Thankfully, she is not pregnant. Nonetheless, there were a number of interesting developments over the course of the episode, some aided by what I find to be a clever little dramatic device called "drug one of your protagonists�?.

It turns out that Meredith Grey has appendicitis and requires an appendectomy. To prepare for the surgery, she is injected with morphine. Within moments, she's as high as a kite. And, in the world of TV, you know what that means: she immediately becomes a fountain of truth.
