| <<PREVIOUS NEXT>>At one time or another, every Gilmore Girls fan wanted Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) to end up together. Maybe it was just for a second, then you went back to longing for Luke (Scott Patterson) and Lorelai to finally get together, but there was certainly a time when the appeals of Christopher won out. Early on, he was the rebel, the young kid unable to be a father who took off to live his own life. To read the rest, click here. |

| Yay! I get to be the first to chime in here. First of all, yes, David Sutcliffe is hot, but no, Christopher Hayden is NOT a good dad. He is a terrible, whiny, self-absorbed schmuck with grand plans but absolutely no follow-through. I do not approve of him being on this list. |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | *sticks tongue out at Debbie* I love Christopher. The writers totally changed who his character was towards the middle of the series. He was not a perfect or even a good dad, but he always loved Rory and part of the reason he wasn't in her life was because of Lorelai, I truly believe that. I wish they hadn't butchered his character so much, I always thought the two of them belonged together. Like starc crossed lovers who just took a coupld of decades to get it together. |

| Ha, meimie is right, as usual. What happened to Christopher on this show was one of the worst examples of character assassination by writers I've ever seen. They made him awful, but in the early stages, like seasons 1 and 2, before Sherry, he was amazing. |

| Even though Lorelai and Christopher was in love and had Rory, they were not meant to be since many things got in the way. I for one always wanted Luke and Lorelai to be together and I was glad they left it that they would wind up together at the end of the season even though I wanted a wedding. Oh well. |

| Christopher Hayden, a hot father indeed. Whether he was a good dad or not however i suppose is a matter of opinion, he wasn't always around and didn't play a part in rorys life for many years, but at the end he in my opinion was a good dad. I suppose he still just had some growing up today. I say a good dad part time is better than a horrid dad full time. |

| Christopher was NOT a good dad. he was terriable father. the best example of this is when he walked in on Rory and Logan making out and so did luke and he started to tell Luke had no right to care because that was his daughter and luke said really were you there for.... Luke was her father christopher was not. he shouldn't be on this list at all |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() | I think the show honestly just felt the need to make him into some kind of villian. Like theEditor said, season 1 & 2 I just loved Christopher and I seriously though when the series ended, it would be him and Lorelai finally getting their sh!t together and getting married. I mean, there was always geniune feeling Lorelai had for him. I think last time we had this debate someone mentioned Lorelai calling him from her bacholorette party when she was getting ready to marry Max. You could sense this longing to be together. But then the whole Emily convincing Christopher to go after Lorelai when she was with Luke and everything else that happened. It was like this house of cards where they suddenly decided Christopher was the bad guy and made him such a jerk. It was unforgivable in my mind because I loved Chris. He was a good guy who got butchered by the writers. And ugh, when they actually DID get married. You know, I'm not even going to get into the awful things the writers did, but I will continue to defend Christopher as the good man he was and as the person I think was always meant for Lorelai. I think there was a lot of fan pressure for a Luke/Lorelai relationship and I think that was why they decided to make Christopher look awful (although they did some sucky things to Luke too, but not nearly as bad as Chris.) Anyway. I *heart* you Chris.
