With only three episodes left this season, the future of Gilmore Girls remains uncertain, as there’s still no definite official news on a renewal for an eighth season. There is, however, an unofficial rumour saying that they’ve been asked to do a “shortened season” and that Lauren Graham seems open to the idea of returning as Lorelai for at least this period. No news yet on whether Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory, will participate if this goes forward. But what about the rest of the seventh season? The official description of tonight’s (May 1) episode of Gilmore Girls at The CW reads: “With graduation looming, Rory is anxiety-ridden over her future, so Lorelai tries to cheer her up with a day of eating and shopping. Lorelai notices happily that Luke is once again wearing the baseball cap she gave him, and invites him to join her and Rory for karaoke night at a local bar. After a few drinks, Lorelai takes the stage to sing a heartfelt number which is obviously directed at Luke. Logan returns from a business trip to California and comes to see Lorelai to discuss his future with Rory.” To read the rest, click here.

I only want to know if Matt Czuchry will return to the show next season. His absence in this season (series) finale upsets me.

How can Rory turn him down? He's been such a good boyfriend that past few episodes!

Agree with both oy you on both issues. How can they not have Matt Czuchry in the finale? That is just crazy. And how can Rory turn down Logan under any circumstances? All of us should be so lucky as to have someone like Logan. This is all being done to justify sending Rory off as a single girl reporter. It is ridiculous. It is forced. It makes no sense. I only hope that 1: They filmed an alternate finale ending. 2: Matt Czuchry will be back in an 8th season. He's the sole reason we kept watching after season 4. And they have totally underused him this year already. What are they doing to this show? Very upsetting!

This is not, repeat, not the way to end this season or series. I have developed a total love for Logan over the last three years. And these last episodes, today's, and spoilers are giving me a huge dislike for Rory. A character I've watched for seven years now. And her behavior is causing me to dislike her very much. I feel so badly for Logan. He's so in love with Rory and look what she's going to do to him! Disgusting is all I can say.

I'm having a hard time believing that the show is really going to end the series with Rory and Logan broken up. It seems rediculous that after all the time and effort in building the relationship between the two. That the writers are really going to leave it this way.

Agree with Mel and everyone else. This breakup story makes no sense. It doesn't follow any of the previous storylines and just seems thrown together. I know that if I see Rory smiling and partying in the finale I will forever have a bad feeling for her. Three years of a great relationship with Logan and then in the last two shows she dumps him and is all smiles? What a horrible story and picture that makes!

The BEST episode of Gilmore Girls all season! They have finally connected with the "Girls" in the writing...would be a shame for things not to continue into a Season 8!

Yes they need an 8th season to close things correctly. Glad things look like they'll be okay for Lorelei & Luke. But what the spoilers are saying about Rory & Logan is very disturbing. A breakup over Rory's career plans is very lame. None of the previous storylines support this as a viable reason. I hope they don't emabarrass the show with this ending. If there was ever a loving couple on tv it is Rory & Logan. Find another way to close the season or series other than a break-up.

Word now is that there may be no 8th season. The 'girls" are still holding out. This is very tiring. I want an 8th season so they can correct anything they do to wreck Rory & Logan this year. And an 8th year only with Matt Czuchry aboard. So many unknowns. Yes to an 8th year. Yes to Matt Czuchry. Yes to Rory & Logan staying together. We'll just have to wait and see.
