LorelaiSo I re-learned a lesson this week on Gilmore Girls.  Having always been told to use words in tough situations, it was advice that seemed obvious.  But what do you do in a situation where you are already talking but just not saying the right things?

On tonight’s episode of Gilmore Girls we got to see the progression of many relationships.  Lorelai and Luke rekindled their banter, Sookie and Jackson communicated their own realities, Paris and Doyle split and rejoined and I think Rory had Logan on her mind most of the episode.  In each of these relationships, it was saying the right thing or the right word in the right way that brought things into a new light.

They are setting up Rory's career dilemma as an excuse to say no to Logan's proposal. And I'm not buying if for even one second. Is Rory graduating from Yale or is she still in Chilton? Why, after knowing what Paris is like, would Rory be so influenced by any of Paris' psycho babbling? She was even more over the top the usual this week. Rory shouldn't even factor in Paris' comments. And then the NY Times rejection. They are going to use this as the reason for Rory's rejction of the the man she was showing around Stars Hollow just last week. It doesn't work. It's contrived. I'm insulted that they expect the viewers to buy this. Logan deserves so much better. If this is the way Rory REALLY is then Logan will the fortunate one not to get stuck with a stone hearted and selfish little girl like Rory. They are not ending this season in a good way at all. Very very bad and really disgusting. I want an 8th season to get these horrors corrected. If they end the show this year it will be a jok

Cameron, as always loved your recap!! But when Paris freaked out after the YDN staff voted her out of her editor in chief tenure, she dumped Doyle and he fixed things between them. So I wasn't surprised that, again, Doyle didn't let Paris craziness ruin their relationship. I only hope DR also plans to do the same with Rory and Logan in the future...

I love your comments Cameron. It is so very obvious that the writers are using Rory's career anxiety as the excuse for the R/L break-up. I didn't have to have Rory & Logan get married to end this show. But this ridiculous story with Rory reverting back to an insecure tortured little girl is just horrible. I am hoping that there is an alternate ending filmed that we don't know about and/or an 8th season to fix this mess. None of this storyline connects. They are making Rory into a junior Paris and that is not a good thing.
And also...they'd better not try making Logan the bad guy in this story if they want to have any credibility at all. Very disappointed and even angry at what they are doing to Rory & Logan. Just plain wrong on every level.

I thought Rory was supposed to be a smart and strong young woman. She is acting very childish here over the lack of job offers. Since Rory was supposed to be a journalist when this show finally ends.....that's what they have been saying since year 1....the writers now seem ike they are grasping for a way to send Rory off on her career as a single career woman. Well, they didn't count on Logan. The best boyfriend on all of tv. Any story they come up with now to justify Rory rejecting Logan will be beyond pathetic. I've never seen such bad writing on this show. All of a sudden Rory is an emotional weakling who will hurt the man she loves so she can be "independent"? Please....someone call the Writers Guild and have these people kicked out!

Another good article Cameron. Thanks for your always professional comments. I thought this episode sucked. Lorelei and Luke getting back together. Wow, there's a big surprise. And attention CW and executives at GG: when Rory starts basing any of her life decisions on anything Paris says you know the writers are creatively bankrupt. It is ludicrous to break up Rory and Logan over Rory's career doubts. I'd laugh if it weren't so ridiculous. Logan is looking more and more as way too good and sophisticated for Rory. And that's an infamous ending for these writers to have on their records. Hard to image this getting any worse.

Hey Dave - why do you tune into the CW on Tuesdays anyway? lol.... I thought that it was a very good episode. The "I want a Horn" stuff was classic Gilmore.

I got hooked on Gilmore because of the great writing and characters. I fully expected L/L to end up together. No problems with the car shopping. The storyline arc for R/L is insulting to my intelligence..so I think the ep. sucked. Big time.

I admit that Rory's storyline has suffered not only this season, but last season as well. Hopefully with at least a short season 8 and Loren taking a bit more of a role as a "Producer", Rory's s/l may be saved.... that is if she even agrees to come back for the limited schedule. I guess I disagree with you on your "predictable" L/L reunion. Of course it's in the cards to happen, but I really like how it's happening. They are nervous and scared.... the whole "Craig's list Jeep" and "Bicycle Horn" stuff was great. I'm sorry that you think that the writing is going downhill, but I see the last 4 episodes as definitely going uphill.
