I have a problem with the show picking one character (Logan) to end up unhappy while everyone else is celebrating. The spoilers showing a big happy sendoff for Rory in the finale after she's just broken Logan's heart bother me very much. Eberyone's happy but Logan who they won't even show in the finale. I'm sorry, but this is not right. This is not the way to end a series. If there is an 8th season then I'm all for it so they can make up for what they are doing to Logan. I think this makes Rory look shallow and childish too. Not a good way to end the season.

I totally agree with the sentiments expressed here. If Rory wants to hack it as a journalist, she's going to have to stop falling into a tailspin every time something doesn't work out. Life is full of uncertainties, and yeah, that sucks, but really... grow a pair and deal with them. It's not the end of the world.

I also find this whole career dilemma excuse for ditching Logan to be preposterous. It's inconsistent with all of the story telling they've done all year, and the direction they've been going in with the relationship. Plus, it makes Rory look like a spoiled child who is throwing away a toy that has been fun to play with for a few years on a whim. If the person she claims to love "so much" really means less to her than a job, she's got her priorities messed, and Logan is indeed better off without her. If they do make a season eight, it should include Rory pleading with Logan to forgive her, and Logan saying no. I also have a problem with her being all smiley and happy at he

... I also have a problem with Rory being all smiley and happy at her going away party while Logan, a character central to the show for the last three years, is left behind in the ditch. This is just being so poorly executed, it's ridiculous. There are a million better ways they could have broken them up, if that was what they wanted to do. As it is, it sort of just looks like an afterthought, and I think a lot of viewers will side with Logan over Rory (and the writers). I know I will.

I agree with all of you. Rory ending a relationship that means so much to her, and then just like that its over is ridiculous. Why bring the guy, you love so much, home and then in a matter of time dump them because of some job? In Hay Bale Maze they agreed to factor each other in am I right, then why did all of a sudden did that concept just disappear. This is poor writing. Also, why is it that Rory is being influence by Paris? I don't remember Rory being this selfish and shallow. I have seen a lot of woman that succeeded in their respected careers and at the same time with a stable relationship. If Rory is really determine to have both then she can make it all work for her. I mean it won't be easy but they'll get through it. Anyway, as we watch this poor writing pass us by, I can't help but think sometime that there must have been a missing episode before Rory's Graduation/Engagement/Breakup that caused this breakup. I don't know if they had a fight or Logan cheated on her or whateve

I totally agree with everyone who does not like what they are doing to Rory & Logan. Rory is supposed to be better than this. And please, the bit about dumping the man you love so much becasue you are depressed about job offers? Absoultely awful storyline. I was very upset and angry at seeing spoilers showing Rory getting a big party in Stars Hollow in the finale. She has just broken someone's heart and she is partying? I find Logan to be the most interesting charcter on this show by far. Beautifully acted by Matt Czuchry and loaded with smarts and charisma. It is horrible what they are doing to Logan. He's been a central character for 3 years and they treat him like this? Awful writing! WE deserve to see Logan's future. He deserves to end up happy also. If the show ends this year I will be left with the terrible image of Rory partying and smiling after crushing Logan. And this is just so so wrong in every way.

As always great article Cameron. Also agree with your sentiments that she (Rory) should be able to juggle both her dream job AND keep her man:P Agreeing with everyone else before me who posts that the writers are just using the "independent-woman-career-comes-first" excuse. I mean sure they're too young to think 'bout marriage but should that be a legitimate reason to break up?

conradv, I hope you are right about how Lauren Graham "Producer" credit could be good for Rory storylines in season 8. Though, not that it's Lauren's fault, but she has a "Producer" credit since episode 7X12, and that didn't save Rory from some pointless storylines until 7X15, nor stopped the contrived and badly built Rory and Logan upcoming break up. Lorelai will end the season shining, which is okay. But Rory will end the season looking weaker than ever, and that is my big problem with the writers: how Rory regressed. How she is being portrayed doesn't sell me the image of an independent single career oriented woman, rather an insecure and lost teenager.

Yes! Nara and everyone else! This story is not making Rory look independent or smart. It is making her look emotionally immature and very cold-hearted. If Logan was a casual college friend there would be no problem. But Logan is just the complete opposite. He has been in a very loving and committed rleationship with Rory for years and they even lived together. This break-up makes no sense at all. If the show ends as the spoilers say then Rory will be the villain no matter how the writers try to spin it. She can't do this Logan and not end up looking like a selfish brat. I pray that doesn't happen. I pray they don't ruin this show with this horrendous break-up story. It is just completely ridiculous. So looking forward to an 8th season. But only with Matt on board. "Logan" is simply the most charismatic guy on tv. That smile could melt an iceberg.

Just want to add that I think Janey is right. Many viewers, including ALL the viewers with a sense of fairness, will side with Logan if there is a break-up. Is this the way they want Rory remembered? As a cold, emotionally childish, self centered brat who parties after wrecking the man she is supposed to be in love with? What a horrible ending to this show or season.

I too don't like what hey are doing to Rory & Logan. Rory is starting to look very bad here.
Paris may be funny but Rory has never paid any attention to what she says until they need a reason for Rory to dump Logan? Get real. My main interest now is seeing that Logan is okay. They have treated him awfully and he doesn't deserve that. Will we get to see how Logan turns out? The spoilers of the sendoff party for Rory made me sick. I only hope they are wrong and Rory isn't as cold as she looked in the spoilers.
