I didn't like season 5 either. For one, I've never been a fan of the way college is done on teen dramas. Usually all the characters end up at the same college and that's not realistic. On DC, they might as well have all been at the same school 'cause they were still together in the same place. Even Dawson came from L.A. to Boston to be with them. And they even had Pacey going away with them for spring break and, as much as I love Pacey, I thought that was just odd.
Secondly, I couldn't stand the whole Dawson/Joey saga that lasted that whole season. It was like torture...she gets jealous over him and Jen while he acts like he's moved on, then he decides he hasn't moved on and goes after Joey but she's with another guy. Geez. Stop it already!
Then season 5 just felt a little too focused on Joey. She had so many stories from her and the teacher and her and Charlie to her singing. Hell, she had a whole episode that just focused on her (which btw I did think was the worst episode of DC so far).
yes,i know what you mean...it was really enough concentrated on Joey and what i hate the most was whole thing about her and her teacher...i really didnt enjoy it...in whole show i could watch everyone and little enjoy it...but these scenes bored me and whole season 5 was bad for me...just few moments make me emo, when Mitch died and they were back to Capeside for awhile,it was nice and sad at the same time...
I guess Charlie and Joey wouldnt mind me,but how you mentioned there was too much Joīs scenes in 5th season and for me there wasnt enough friendship for which i was used to watch in previous seasons....then what bother me in season 5 was that they separated Jen and Jack...ooh man how i was happy that they will be together live in Boston etc but then.......Jack was part of some bunch of idiots and Jen was alone...i so missed their relationship...

Quote:
Ok...and now I gotta admit something and, Nanika, please don't get mad at me but...I skipped to the Castaway episode. I'm sorry but I just couldn't wait. It was killing me 'cause when I went to see what number ep it was I saw that Pacey and Joey were the only ones in that ep and my mind just couldn't focus on any other ep, lol. But I was confused as to what happened with Audrey and the Eddie thing so I'm going back to watch them in order now. But that ep gave me hope for season 6! And I have MASSIVE thoughts regarding that episode that of course I'll express later
LOL...youīre guilty!!!...you sin girl...how you could do that...i loved casteways because it was one of the best(=best)episode of 5th season...
Quote:
I agree. She just stuck out...she made a lot of funny comments and was very insightful on their lives but she was an outsider looking in. Definitely not one of them.
yes exactly...i was all the time just waiting that she disappears like all guess stars in DC..and it wasnt because i wouldnt like her...i just was whole fifth season in faith that iīm gonna get some "good old DC",something little emo and nice how some conversations between them all were....how i loved all conversations between Jen/Jack,then in season 3 how Pacey helped Joey and stood by her and finally in season 4 how he was with her as her boyfriend..and how you few times mentioned he had really fantastic speech to her and loved him for that....
and then what i liked, too, although i know that Dawson had really some crappy moments,i liked his friendship with Joey...at least at first..itś kind of personal experience for me,cause i have one boy who is my neighbour since my childhood and weīre(were rather) best friends...so maybe i sometimes looked at Dawson and Joey and saw my childhood,lol...i know it may sounds crazy...
i just wanna say that first four seasons were lovely and heart breaking and they subscribed into my heart somehow...but then it was sooo different in 5th and 6th season...

Quote:
And on Mitch's death, I must admit something. I didn't cry about it until Dawson went to some film festival where he was being honored and they read a letter his father had wrote about him. I actually fell apart in that scene and, as much as I hate Dawson, I did feel for him because it must've been hard to have to hear the beautiful things his father said about him all the while knowing he'll never be able to see or speak to his dad again. Even Dawson's speech after that got me all emo.
oh.....i dont remember that well...its pity...but yes, poor Dawson about it...after dadīs death he get little more reasonable,imo...it was little stupid for storyline that suddenly dawsons dad died and so again Dawson and Joey couldnt be together...but except it i feel sorry for him and episode where they all remembered on Mitch made me emo...

Quote:
Anyway, I liked the last 2 eps very much, they got me re-addcited to DC. There were scenes that even made me sympathize with Dawson himself, like when he let Jen who was very upset about her granddad stay the night and in the morning when she kissed him Joey caught them, just as both Joey and Dawson had finally decided that they loved each other.
yes....i agree with you in it..i really hated Dawson because of his behavior to Pacey and Joey at the end of s3 and it was so cruel from him...but except this there were some nice moment,i have to admit...

ARGH!!! I'm almost done with episode 6 but I had to stop it 'cause I'm like going crazy! For one, I want Dawson to die. Like seriously, I can't take him anymore. He sleeps with Joey while dating another woman! Are you freakin' kidding me?! And he's the guy she's been pining after all these years?! He's supposed to be her friend yet what he did was so horrible and a million times worse than anything she could have ever done to him. And it really freakin' pisses me off like you just don't know when that skank Natasha tells Dawson she feels bad for him 'cause Joey hurt him. WTF?! Joey didn't screw Dawson while dating another guy. Joey didn't scream on Dawson while he was dating Jen or Eve or Natasha or Gretchen and try to force him to chose between her and those girls. No, those are things Dawson did. He's the most selfish, self-absorbed bastard I've ever seen in my life and watching Joey get all sullen and emo over him just makes me want to slap her repeatedly. She has been a friend to Dawson and more than proven her loyalty to him and the way he treats her is infuriating. And it does aggravate me that she frets so much over her relationship with Dawson when we never saw her get all weepy over the break-up with Pacey, who treated her better than Dawson ever could! And furthermore, it really enrages me to watch Dawson crap all over these females to go chase after the girl he wants in the moment and then get jealous and annoyed when he sees the girl he rejected moving on. He did it to Joey, claiming he was moving on from her to be with Eve yet got all pissed when Joey hooked up with Pacey. Now he's doing it with Natasha, dumping her on her voicemail after hooking up with Joey and then getting jealous when he sees Natasha with his boss. Dawson acts like he's entitled to have whatever he wants whenever he wants it. Who the hell does he think he is?! Don Juan-freakin DeMarco?! *exhales* Whew...ok...I'm feeling better now that I got that out.

Lol, when I finish the last ep of season 6, I'm gonna crash like you just don't know. It'll probably take me a week to catch up on all the sleep I've lost to obsess over this show, lol.
And the reoccurring love triangle doesn't speak well at all and I actually cringed a bit when watching it 'cause I kept thinking omg they've already done this. And poor Pacey...every season (except season 4) he's having to say the same thing to both Dawson and Joey over and over again: to move on and give it up.

Omg, I was almost sick from that story 'cause it made NO sense for her to try to hook up with her teacher and because we've already seen one of them do the whole teacher thing. Pacey. Season 1. Geez, Joey makes such poor decisions in men: Jack turned out to be gay, Dawson turned out to be an a**, Charlie was a womanizer who'd already screwed over Jen, the teacher was just..yuck, A.J. had his own "Dawson/Joey" saga with another girl, and Eddie....well, right now I don't know about Eddie but I figure he'll turn out to be a loser too. The only time Joey got it right was when she picked Pacey.

Is it just me or does it feel like Jen and Jack aren't given good storylines when they're separated. I prefer seeing them together as friends because their relationship is so great to watch.

I'm so guilty and I felt bad doing it but I HAD to, lol. I NEEDED that ep so badly. Hopefully they end up together and that isn't the only ep of them having beautiful moments like that in this season.

Season 3 and 4 are by far my favorites of this series, mainly because of what was going on with Pacey and Joey. I liked the Dawson/Joey friendship in the beginning (even though Dawson annoyed me) but what I really loved was watching Joey build a new friendship and then relationship with Pacey. They had a maturity and growth in their friendship/relationship that she never had with Dawson. To me, when I see her and Dawson as friends I see them as two young teens as friends. But her and Pacey have this connection where I could see them as friends (though I'd rather see them as a couple, lol) well into adulthood. Actually, the few moments they had together in season 5 I really enjoyed because I loved the way they were able to recover from their break up and move forward still connected to each other and caring for the other without the incessant pining over each other that she and Dawson did.

And on Jensen: So...at first I liked him. He seemed okay and I loved how he pushed that guy that was blocking Jen aside to go help her rescue Audrey. But now...I'm not so sure about him. I don't trust him. I had a moment where I thought he was gay when he showed up with that guy. But now I'm worried he's either a womanizer or abusive or maybe has some type of STD or something, lol. I don't know but I don't think I want Jen and him together. I am kinda pissed off at Jack though for not telling Jen what he knows about C.J. so far (that he's not interested and that his friend thinks she'd be better off not hooking up with him).

And Audrey....geez, she's like a train derailing right now. Pacey so needs to break up with her.

Long post, long post - but a lot of thoughts

EDIT: Omg! Audrey slapping Pacey was so freakin' uncalled for! Relationships don't always work and at least he wasn't trying to be a jerk about it. She's such a mess right now and frankly Pacey deserves more than her drama.

yes,absolutely...i remember well, how he slept with Jo and she found some message in his phone or something and she found that he has girlfriend and sleep with her at the same time...youīre right...i think that they were good friends at first, but they never should be couple...i think he just hurt her over and over....just once i would say that their break up wasnt just his fault-when he lodged infos against her father...but then how he shouted at her and everything you mentioned made me crazy...i dunno, but she is too kind to him...if i would be her,i would tell him that she just use me when he feels barge and wanna someone who he knows well...but whatīs that...how she can accept that...i know Pacey was quite evil to her when he broke up with her,but if i remember then he apologized her...with Dawson itīs every day different...he doesnt care if he hurt someone, just he is acting accordance with what he feels at the moment....

Yeah....i really hate whole story about her and teacher and it really doesnt make sense...she and teacher?!..it wasnt believable for me...when Pacey was with Tamara,it was different, but Jo and teacher it was too much...i was soooo bored about it...and lol, thatīs true that she wasnīt the best in picking boys...on the other hand Jack was kind and good boy,i think...itīs pity that he turned out to be gay...that with Dawson,itś catastrophe, but with Charlie,i dunno...there she brought up with him...he seemed to me that he really loved her and that it would be different with her,but she didnt want him anymore....adn Eddie,i dunno, but think he is quote good guy...dont remember much well...
and yes,Pacey was love of her life.....it was great decision...but still i canīt believe that she couldnt make a decision soo long...she tortured him and after long time she finally kissed him...

no i think,itś true...yes,some scenes with Jen i liked, but i totally hated Jack with boys in their club...it was the biggest disappointment for me that they were supposed to be friends along,at the same university etc and then they separated them....

yea,i loved 4 and 3 season the most,too...it was just great made....awww, their moments in 5th season were great...i really liked ....what annoyed me about 5th season next was how Dawson was with Jen and then they came to grannyīs house and there PAcey made a dinner and there were Jack,PAcey,Joey and Audrey if i remember well..and what annoyed me that when finally Dawson was quite happy with Jen,so Joey made problems....i think the writers were just sick with imagination Joey/Dawson soulmates or something...it made me crazy,really...lol

you read my minds...i know that i felt quite strange about him...exactly how you said,i dont believe him...i didnt think that he turns out to be gay,but still something annoyed me with him...not too much, but still there was something wrong with him...i would say that at least i had similar feelings as about Audrey...he just wasnt one of them...

I just finished S2 episode "The Reluctant Hero" and for the first time I totally melted. How Pacey helped with Andie's mum, getting her out of the grocery store, was sooooo sweet!
Although we all agree that Dawson is annoying and selfish I liked him for getting Jen out of this weird abusive sitution with that rich guy who likes to get her drunk and humiliate her.

What's up with this forum today? The page looks weird!

Whatevs...so I finished watching every episode of Dawson's Creek this weekend! Gotta say, I cried so bad on the last few eps of season 6 but that finale....there were little crumpled up tear soaked tissues all around my laptop on that finale. I had heard that someone died on the show in the end, but I just figured it would be Grams. It being Jen was totally a gut-wrenching blow, especially since she had a baby. (Btw, was that baby C.J.'s? I'm assuming it was which makes me really not like Jensen's character)
As for the whole Dawson/Joey/Pacey thing. When Joey came to the restaurant and Pacey scooped her up and hugged her, swinging her around I was so grinning. But then Dawson walked up and I actually screamed out loud, "OMG, not again!" They really dragged that love triangle throughout the entire series and it was a bit annoying because Joey and Dawson together never really made sense to me. He was her childhood friend and nothing more...the fact that she had liked him was merely, imo, because she'd shared so much of her life with him and felt closer to him than to anyone else. But her heart was with Pacey and thankfully she came to her senses, lol. That scene with Pacey and Joey on the dance floor...*exhales* magic.

I like how they had the whole "The Creek" tv series thing going on in it too. And in terms of storylines, I think Pacey had the BEST storyline of season 6. Maybe I'm saying that because I LOVE Pacey but he really did act the hell out of that story and show his maturity. I knew that stock thing wasn't going to turn out well and I was expecting possibly some legal drama to arise but him investing his and Dawson's money into it was intense. As was his fight with his boss! I actually screamed out loud when Pacey pushed him and he hit the computer. And that storyline did allow everything to come full circle with him and Dawson and Joey right back on Dawson's lawn, just like the scene in the "The Longest Day" episode...only years later. That was so sad.

In response to helps and Calena:
Pacey did humiliate Joey when they broke up (though I still don't think the real Pacey would've done that) so I could understand them being apart. But, helps you're right, because he did apologize and he told her that he missed her after it had happened and she said she missed him so I really felt like they should've been able to talk it out. And I was totally willing to forgive Pacey for what he did because it was a one-time occurrence and you could see that he spent years after that still feeling remorse for his actions. In the Castaways episode, he really broke my heart when he said to Joey, "I know where this road ends", almost as if he was recalling that prom break up moment.

Dawson crapped over Joey and Pacey all the time. He was so unforgiven, even up until the very end. When Pacey came to him to tell him about the money, he basically acted like he expected Pacey to screw up because that's just what he is in life. I wanted to punch him in the face. Pacey made a mistake. He did something really stupid but with the best intentions at heart and Dawson making the comment to Joey about her taking Pacey's side kicked up some serious rage in me at Dawson. IRL, Dawson and Joey's friendship would've ended a long time ago.

And as for Jack and Jen: Jen's ending was sad but I didn't like the way the story ended for Jack either. I think the show was always trying to hook him up with someone. I like that Dougie ended up being gay because Pacey had been saying it all along, but I don't think I really wanted to see him and Jack sitting on the beach, deciding to raise Jen's child together. I kinda wanted to see Jack on his own...that bittersweet moment of him losing his soulmate and friend but left to take care of her child.

And I loved Pacey in Reluctant Hero too. I actually really loved how he treated Andie and her family as a whole. He was in the episode where Andie really broke down too...I think it was the Ch..Ch..Changes ep.

have to admit i dont remember this part clearly...actually whole storyline of s6 i dont remember well...u just remember that there were Joey and Eddie together....and then few final episodes...

yes,he apologized really nice way and i think Jo could forgive him without doubts...with Dawson itīs been always harder, cause he sometimes just used Joey and force her to do things which he wanted...forced her to make hard decisions which she didnt want to do etc....and he was enough bad to her as you mentioned before....
Pacey was angry to her,but how then he explained her,he was mad about himself and not with her or something...

I love that they all ended up coming back to Capeside 'cause, like you said, it was where it all began and it was where it should end. Plus it didn't feel really sappy and over the top like some season finales from other teen soaps. It was simple and quiet and sad.

...and whole thing about Jen...omg,how it was sad when Jack and then Pacey(and they all, although i dont remember that exactly) visited her in hospital...then when Dawson made video with her for Amy...:...all in all these episodes were totally heart breaking...
Omg, I was crying buckets over Jen. I couldn't take it. When she broke down crying to Pacey, telling him she didn't want to die I was a wreck. They never showed her funeral or anything and I think that was actually a good thing 'cause watching everyone in the hospital with her was sad enough. But I did love when Jack told them she didn't want them to come in her hospital room and cry so they were trying to decide who should go in first to see her and everyone looked at Pacey...he said, "send in the clown". I laughed and cried at the same time.

about Jensenīs character,i agree...i thought that child was his,but i wasnt sure.....but when you think that, too,so weīre right probably...and itīs probably why i feel strange about C.J..
I think we're right 'cause C.J. and Jen both went to NY and they were still together. He's a bastard for leaving her with a child, especially after he made such a fuss about her needing to learn to trust him.

aaaaaaaaah...i already told that you-this is my fav scene....i had to smile...it was sooo nice and heart warming from him...
.
Hehe, I actually giggled when he did that and I like never giggle, lol. And Joey's face when he did it, she was grinning from ear-to-ear.

Aye, did you block season 6 out of your memory? Lol. Well...it has been a bit since it aired, 'cause I'm late watching it . Overall, season 6 was way better than season 5 (which I think was the worst season) mainly because of Pacey's storyline. Out of all of them, he had a really interesting storyline and they ended up involving Joey and Dawson into his story by having Joey work as Pacey's secretary and then having Dawson invest money.

Quote:
yes,he apologized really nice way and i think Jo could forgive him without doubts...with Dawson itīs been always harder, cause he sometimes just used Joey and force her to do things which he wanted...forced her to make hard decisions which she didnt want to do etc....and he was enough bad to her as you mentioned before....
And what you said is exactly the reason why Joey pissed me off in the Castaways episode. Pacey made a mistake. He screamed on her and he hurt her but he was going through a horrible time in their last year of high school. He did embarrass her and I could understand her trepidation with going back to him but he'd only hurt her like that once. Once! When they were together, he loved her in a way no man could've loved her. He treated her like she was a queen, even the way he looked at her you could tell he loved her. Omg, it like makes me love him more the way he loved her. But Dawson repeatedly, and I mean REPEATEDLY treated her like trash. He totally abused their friendship and tried to keep her as his object rather than treat her like a friend. So in the Castaways episode, when she says there's so many reasons we didn't and wouldn't work, I was like WTF?! Pacey did one messed up thing and you won't give him another chance but Dawson screws you over constantly and you're willing to overlook it. Plus, the way she pined after Dawson. It was constantly and it annoyed me and I actually loved when Pacey said he wished she'd have devoted as much time being sad over their breakup as she did over being dejected about not being with Dawson. He was right. I think I saw her get sad about the Pacey break up like twice. She spent 6 seasons emotionally torn over Dawson.

i love how you said that...exactly-simple,quiet and sad....i love this end,too...although it wasnt typical happy ending and i was sooo sad about Jenīs end,it was actually kind of welcomed for me...i like emo moments and ending...itīs why i for example love movie pay it forward(im not sure about title) or whale rider and else...

awww......you mentioned these the most sad and the most nice moments...yeah,when Pacey was there at her,i had to cry, because it was too hard do not...when she told him that she doesnt wanna die,it was terrible..i mean she died so young and with baby....and i loved her character...
"send it clown"...ah,it was another really great/sad moment..i remember how they all sat in hospital and were all desperate...next moment which i remember was for me really heart breaking and couldnt do anything than stare through tears and i was all mushy...it was when grams was crying and came to Jack and he hugged her and they cried together...

yes, your arguments are great...i think that dawson really wasnt so good,so i really dont know why she was so obsessed by him...he might be her first love, but she was with him just few weeks and then she felt uncomfortable...and then how dawson treated with her,it was something terrible...

I watched the 2 eps of Jack's coming out the day before yesterday (Yesterday I had a girls night out, so no DC). I have to say, not once was Dawson annoying in that whole 2 eps, when you leave aside that it's not nice to make a movie out of Joey's life. It's understandable that she's not comfortable with having her obsession for Dawson captured on film for the whole world to see. But other than that Dawson was there for Joey for a change before and after Jack broke the news. Pacey is as great as always. By that point in the second season the writers probably deeple regretted not calling the show Pacey's Creek and making it more about him.
I can't believe Jensen's character left a dying Jen who a child from him!
