Previously on Friday night lights, Tyra (Adrianne Palicki) broke up with Landry (Jesse Plemons) after the resolution of their accidental murder, Smash (Gaius Charles) accepted a scholarship with TMU but then got suspended for three games for fighting, Matt (Zach Gilford) fell in love with the hot Latina nurse, but was heartbroken when she decided to go back to Guatemala.Matt has nothing left to live for on tonight's Friday Night Lights. With Carlotta gone, he has to be the sole care-giver for his Grandma again. Not only that, but his old jalopy breaks down on his way to school. He's not a happy camper. At school, he mouths off in his art class, calling his teacher a bitch. He even cuts his Spanish class and football practice. To read the rest, click here.

Matt's shower scene (not like that!) was brilliant. Nicely composed, with the water serving as tears. But my favorite drunk Matt moment was when Riggs was talking to God boy and Lyla, and Matt shouts out "Shalom!" Priceless. Oh, and Landry is actually dead to me, for breaking that sweet Jean's heart and going back to Tyra. For as long as I wanted Landry to get the hot girl, that was a cold, stupid move.

I agree with everything you said except about Landry, he had a thing for Tyra all along, he was just waiting for her to step up and realize she wanted him too. The shower scene was def. the best part of the show because I never really thought about all the people that left him

See, based on the conversation with her mom, I didn't see this as Tyra suddenly realizing she loves Landry, I saw it as her simply wanting what another girl had, and she'll quickly get bored with him and go back to catting around with guys like Riggins.

the shower scene was quality...a close second were the times tim and matt hang out...like at the bar when tim walks over to lyla and her date saying, "Tim....RIGGINS. It is a pleasure. It really is...you have great hair." and matt adds his "shalom" and is topped off w/ the corn nuts for the breath on another note, does anyone know the name of the song playing while tim and matt are in the strip club with tyra's sister

Tyra and Landry totally belong together, and I'm glad they've both realized it finally. I can't believe there's only one episode left.

This episode was the best this year hands down. The dialogue was spot on. Shalom! and "Nice Hair" where fantastic. My favorite though was Landry telling Matt he was worried about him becoming "an at risk youth". Priceless. Smash's scene at the very end where he broke down was quality as well. It ticks me off even more that this show is still not drawing in the ratings, even while competing against repeats. I am growing more and more skeptical that it has a prayer of being renewed next year. I like the fact that exec. producer Peter Berg is making a guest starring role next week as Mrs. Coach's ex. That definitely can't end well for his character.

I have so much love for this episode that I don't even know what to say. The little things are so awesome - we know how Grandma Saracen likes her toast cut and her Jimmy Dean's cooked. Riggins always skips Wednesdays. Then there's the big stuff. Poor Matt - how do you compete with an entire country or a war? (I also can't see how The Swede is better than Matt in any way.) Poor Smash - how does trying to protect your little sister escalate into losing your dream? The scene with him and his mother and the ending with him alone in the locker room were powerful to me, worth the parts of the storyline that I thought were a little off. I adore this show and will be devestated if the new episode airing tomorrow is the last we see of our favorite Dillon residents.
