I was going to begin this article by saying that Friday Night Lights is the best TV show to ever be adapted from a movie. Then, I did my research and realized that I'm an idiot. There have been two TV shows (previous to Friday Night Lights) that have made the successful transition from film to TV. Those would be Mash and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Mash, of course, is the be-all end-all of such adaptations, evolving from a cult Robert Altman film into, arguably, the most popular and important TV show in history. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, on the other hand, took the interesting route of turning a bad movie into a great TV show. Friday Night Lights has a long way to go before reaching the heights of those two shows, but the signs (at least creatively) are promising. The first half of the season has been nothing short of spectacular (besides the pilot) and it's frustrating knowing that there's a better than average chance that we won't get to see a second season, given the show's poor ratings.

Anyway, we've got some nice spoilers for tonight's episode that were mentioned by Isabelle in her SpoilerFix chat yesterday:
