Why do you think family guy is able to be canceled and then come back even though its controversial? do you think that the such controversy is tolerated because they are an animated series?? would the same jokes would be tolerated if it were not an animated series??

I don't think it was cancelled because it was controversial, but because of low ratings. I'm not sure if a non-animated series could get away with what FG does, I don't watch too many shows. I think SNL has been getting away with it for many years though.

Animated series, much like reality show's are much easier & cheaper to make then a real television show. They have more.. "wiggle-room" so to speak. Plus, it's all about the rating's & the appeal. Even though their "rating system" is just ridiculous. I've seen plenty of great show's get cut off in their prime while show's that aren't even half as good not. Most of those that don't seem to last are one's that hit a more target audience which the rating's system should take into consideration.. but it doesn't.

Well do you think the same jokes would be as funny if the show wasnt animated? People demanded the show to be brought back on the air not because theyre so contraversial, but because of the way the jokes are presented. I think animated shows are easier to tolerate, especially when political jokes are mixed in a lot bigger, and mostly random sequences of sitcom humor.

I guess the ratings and massive DVD sales have something to do with it, it's a success on both sides of the atlantic so Fox are gonna reap rewards for as long as it continues!
