I dont hate Meg. Its hilarious that they hate Meg. The mistreatment of Meg has given us some pretty darn funny episodes

it used to be in the story, now they just abuse meg for the sake of doing it when they have run out of ideas, which is currently a regular occurance...

for being terribley awkward and unwanted. Plus it's fun to make fun of someone who's not the worst. otherwise that'd just be mean.

Anyway. She's hated because there's always a character in every comedy show that the main characters hate, just like grandpa on the simpsons (only in the recent serious oddly).

I don't mind the way Meg is treated for 2 reasons:

1) It's just funny as hell. Why not make fun of her?

2) Mila Kunis - on That 70's Show - played the complete opposite of Meg's character. A stuck up rich girl who looks down on everyone else. So when Meg is mistreated I just think "oh yeah that's Jackie, too, and what a b*tch she is!"

its not even that funny, i mean when they try to make some episodes out of that idea, they get something like "The Kiss Seen Around The World", which has been the worst episode in a long time.

haha she's the character we love to hate(?). As was already mentioned, Meg is like the "straight-man" to all the other funnier characters. The whole treating-Meg-like-a-houseplant thing is just a running gag, like how Butters is picked on in South Park, or Willy in the Simpsons. It's a standard formula that works time and time again. Personally I love it hehe... Meg (raspberry)
