Underground hit, derided by critics, canceled with little uproar, picked up by Cartoon Network, slowly builds an audience, sells millions of DVDs out of the blue, recommissioned by FOX, and, finally, turning into a consistent top 30 show. Now, on the eve of what was supposed to be the first day of production of its sixth season, the tumultuous nature of Family Guy's history has once again reared its ugly head.
