In its fifth season it is still great. The only odd thing about fifth season is how they treated Geroge. In this season he did three things - passed the intern exam, chose the trauma specialty and got listed in the army/hit by the bus. He had to do all those things in like 20 minutes - somewhere in between the Callie's newly found sexual orientation, Sloan/Little Grey affair and Izzi's cancer. One can see why the actor wanted off the show after the fifth season. It is a shame they lost George. He was a great character and had a lot of potential to develop further on the show. When I first heard about One Tree Hill, I thought it'd just be a nice replacement for Dawson's Creek (RIP, m'dear), which I'd always enjoyed, so I gave OTH a shot. And it started off pretty well- okay, the characters were a little generic, and the storylines all felt a little 'been there, done that', but only because shows like Dawson's Creek and Roswell had cornered the teen dramagenre so well already.
