Nominations for the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were released today and the academy showed the love to HBO, giving the network 86 nominations, and giving Entourage seven, including the show's first Outstanding Comedy Series nomination up against The Office, 30 Rock, Two and a Half Men and Ugly Betty. The show stands a good chance but will need to prevail over defending champ, The Office and popular Ugly Betty. The episode “One Day In The Valley” was nominated for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series. In the season 3 episode, Vince and his boys head to the Valley to screen Aquaman, in order to avoid being recognized. The blackouts caused by the intense heat screw up the west-coast box office numbers so while they're waiting for the news, Vince and company show up at a high school party of one of his fans. Perhaps “What About Bob” would have been a better contender but who can complain? To read the rest, click here.

This is one of the best shows on TV. Jeremy Piven was born to play Ari Gold. Totally deserves all recognition...

One Day in the valley was as good a show as any to submit. I will watch on repeat the scene of Vince on the roof and then Drama jumping into the pool. Classic. I don't watch any of the other nominees so I can't comment on their appeal

It seems like poor Kevin Connolly and his character Eric Murphy can get no respect. Kevin Connolly is the best thing about Entourage. I love all the guys, and Jeremy Piven might be the loudest, and Kevin Dillon the goofiest, but Kevin Connolly is the heart and soul of the show. I hope the Emmys wake up and pay attention to him in Season 5!
