Days of our Lives begins in the hospital with Kayla (
Mary Beth Evans), immediately after giving birth to her son. Lexie (
Renee Jones) tells her that the baby boy has been rushed to the NICU, and neither Kayla or Steve (
Stephen Nichols) is allowed to see him. Out in the waiting room, Stephanie (
Shelley Hennig) wonders if Daniel would be able to help out with the baby since he did such a good job with Chelsea and Bo. Except that treating a baby would be a completely different field of medicine, one that he is not specialized in, but whatever. TV medicine, especially
Days of our Lives medicine, is not real.
At home, EJ (
James Scott) and Sami (
Alison Sweeney) get ready for bed. They don't say a word, but there is a lot of longing and pining and sighing going on.
Mickey Horton pays a visit to Lucas (
Bryan Dattilo) at Statesville penitentiary. He asks him if he's ready to come home.
