| ^^^ Carnation Revolution... in 1974.... I looked it up.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnation_Revolution Interesting stuff Tanya.... I will take great pleasure in dropping it into a random conversation when next with my portuguese friend.... My 10 favourite movies are..... 1: Blazing Saddles.... Mel Brooks at his finest... the farting round the campfire scene after the eating of a pile of baked beans always makes me chuckle out loud.... Pure brilliant... 2: And unto another Gene Wilder movie.... How can anyone not have 'Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory' near the top of their list... Seriously... how can you not love those oompa Lompas.... ??? 3: Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.... The gorgeous Harrison Ford, Sean Connery and the late River Pheonix all in the one movie.... Excellent!!! 4: 'Elizabethtown': Starring Orlando Bloom and that lass from the Spiderman films... this is an inspired piece of writing.... a well done thing.... won't spoil it for anyone.... but it's a good one... 5: The movie 'Phone Booth' with Colin Farrell and Kiefer Sutherland.... this was just gripping from beginning to end.... excellent!!! 6: And back to the brilliant Mr. Gene Wilder.... ' The Producers' was again another great movie he was in.... he played the part of Leo Bloom so well!!! 7: Father Of The Bride.... Both the originals and the remakes.... all great... hard to pick which one was better of the two... 8: Se7en ... Brad Pitt..... Oh Lordy... Do I really need to say any more? 9: The Usual Suspects.... Kevin Spacey...great ending... cracking in fact.... 10: This last one is a very personal choice for me... it's a little known Irish/american film called 'Da'... starring Martin Sheen.... It reminds me of my own grandad's passing and our trek home from all over to see him off!!! Not to mention all the stories that surfaced in or around that time about our time with him... and the wake we had for him around that time.... The movie 'Da' seemed to grasp all that... I love it for that very reason... Give it some time if you can.... I have left out all the Bela Lugosi movies I could list here... cracking lot.... There are so many more I could add to this list..... Great lists everyone, BTW......

| I forgot to mention on my list ... two other quite worthy movies that I really can't bear to leave out.... Daredevil ...... With the lovely Colin Farrell... need I say any more at all? And the brilliant and most poignant 'Leon' .. starring Jean Leno... The film, had a great overall story -gripping in every way... although quite brutal had a very poignant ending I thought, as the young girl just stood there ... as the Sting song 'Shape Of My Heart' played in the background!!! This too is a movie that is well worth a look in my opinion....
