First of all, there is never just one zombie. Where there is one zombie, there springs up a horde of the moaning buggers. That's how they work. They are also highly underestimated as being dim-witted and easy opponents. I tell you true, this is all part of their ruse.

To fight said zombie and the arrival of his imminent compatriots, you need someone who is qualified to deal with such a situation. That someone... is me.

Not only have I watched every single George A. Romero "Dead" film (and all of the remakes, sequels and unofficial knock-off films in the "Return of the Living Dead" series), but I have seen countless other zombie films- 28 Days Later, the Resident Evil series, the Evil Dead series, not to mention some lesser known members of the genre (White Zombie, Zombie Holocaust, Zombi 2, etc.). This gives me a most extensive knowledge of which strategies effectively halt a zombie invasion/assault, and which strategies are best to avoid.

I also have a copy of The Zombie Survival Guide, which fills in any remaining vital information that was either left out or not inferable from the above-mentioned films. This knowledge will help in the aftermath of the zombie war and aide us during the reconstruction of civilization.

Further more, I am fully trained in the use of over 47 different firearms, 16 forms of swords/clubs, 9 different forms of the martial arts, and I can throw a brick nearly 70 m.p.h.. You see I am actually a part of an elite anti-zombie task force set up in joint effort by the U.S. government and the United Nations. I have been embedded into a seemingly 'normal' job in a seemingly 'normal' town. But once the zombies come, my training will kick in and you'd do best to lay low while my comrades and I do all the dirty work. I'd tell you more, but then I'd have to kill you.

Finally (as if all that isn't enough to convince you of my zombie defense qualifications), I can do a mean impression of Ash (aka Bruce Campbell) from the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness series.

Who wants some?

Best answer in my opinion! I hope you win!

Wow, thanks for the support meimei!

My only problem is that I'm unable to play the TV game quite as often as I probably need to in order to win. Some of us have day jobs and can't play computer games all day. Bummer.

Default Hmmmm....

Aliens? No, they got here. That's half the battle right there. Enough tech to transverse the heavens would probably make our .223's seem pretty paltry. So nope, not aliens.

Now zombies, on the other hand, would be fairly simple as long as you don't run out of ammo. Duh.

But vampires, well, that might be a bit challenging. They are (were?) human so you can assume a certain amount of cunning, stealth, intelligence and possibly somewhat predictable behavior. Unless, of course, you're dealing with a dumb vampire, then it would just be funny.

I didn't even realize that you had to play it until Debbie mentioned something! LOL. Shows how much attention I pay. I REALLY want to win this though, so I'm going to be playing as much as I can think weekend.

Awesome contest! My answer is without a doubt vampires! There is so much lore and mythology on vampires, so I could definitely do plenty of research on how to kill it. And if I can't find the information I need, I can always pull out my Buffy dvd's...I'm sure Giles has the answer! Also alot of the well-known weaponry (sunlight, stakes, Holy water, crosses, garlic) used to kill vampires are easy to come by. And I could take a page from Supernatural and use some dead man's blood to poison it. I think the biggest factor would be the speed and agility it would take to overpower the creature! Hey and if I'm lucky maybe I'd run into Buffy & the Scooby Gang or Sam & Dean! lol And if I'm not lucky...well then I guess I'll be watching my back!

Zombies are just gross and there are way too many of them...and you have to admit anything involving those things just never turns out well!

Aliens...we don't know enough about them or what technology they would have. It would definitely be a sticky situation! And besides what if I lost and they decided to probe me? eek!

Yeah, well, I took a big chance by playing today at work. Not exactly a trend that's safe to continue...

I'll warn you- the game gets addicting at first. Especially since there's such a sweet prize at stake. But after a while, it starts to grow on your nerves a bit. Playing just for the sake of getting a lot of points to maybe win a prize messes with your head a bit. I've found myself freaking out when someone passes me for points.

Of course, we don't exactly know which counts for more- the quality of the answer, or the amount of points you can get. Are we just trying to answer well and accumulate a lot of points in one week, or are we supposed to be trying to have more points than all the folk competing for the dvds? If it's just a matter of racking up a lot of points, I think we all can do that. If our position in points matters, that makes it tough.

I certainly wouldn't be able to justify spending a whole week playing the same game for a $30 dvd, but the fact that this is the COMPLETE X-Files collection makes it worth trying.

Zombies. They're mindless, so they're easy to kill, right?

Would you rather fight a hostile alien race, a zombie, or a vampire? Why?

Oh that's tough, but I'd have to go with vampires on this one. There are multiple ways to take them down or to at the very least ward them off. Plus they're easy on the eyes. And should you loose the war waged against them the alternative is to join them. You get to be immortal, I mean sure you gotta bite a few hundred necks to stay alive but you do what you gotta do.

Unless we're talking vampires like 30 Days of Night vampires, those suckers take no prisoners. I'll have zombies over them any day, just go Alice on them snap a few dozen necks and your saving the human race, plus they're slow typically. Of course you'd have to make sure you got them before they bit to many people cause once you get chomped on by a zombie, should you survive, you'll soon become as brainless and blood thirsty as they are. So I'd make sure I had a team of well equipped men and women nearby. The type who would kill themselves if they got bit and not try to hide it. Actually make that all men, since typically women when faced with danger become stupid, and just scream and run and fall a lot. Of course if they were women like Alice or Laura Croft that'd be ok, I mean I'm a woman myself so saying no woman sounds rather hypocritical.

X-Files=most favorite show ever this would be the coolest thing to win ever! Plus it'd save me about $350 :P
