| I put this in the Terminator contest thread but I am going to post it here. I have a few questions about awarding of prizes. For this sake I will cite the Terminator as a example. In this contest you ask people to state their favourite terminator and explain why. Now the winners are randomly selected. Now is the winners based on just the people that did that iregardless if they did what they were suppose to or is it just based on those who did? How do you determine what order to award the prizes? Do you do something like how you pick the name and award them by putting them all together and the order the prizes are picked will be how they are awarded or is it based on possible value or something else? Then there is who wins and what is it something like the prizes that all qualifying enteries are stuck together and so lets say in terms of prizes first prize selected goes to first person selected or something else? Finally does all the entries or prizes get put into a hat and drawn that way, do you use a computer program or again something else? Sorry to be nosey just curious on how you do this. |

| There are a whole bunch of prizes for the Sarah Connor Chronicles contest, and the way I'm going to do it is assign everyone who replied a number. I use a random integer generator to give me random numbers. I'll put everyone in the random integer generator for the first set of prizes. Then, whoever wins the first prize will be removed from the pool (just to distribute the prizes among the most people). Then I will repeat this process for all the prizes until I'm done.

| thanks for clarifying, debbie! so... do winners have an option of picking which item they want? because i'd loooove the hat or t-shirt, but have no interest in an autographed poster. and i'm sure other people feel strongly for some items over others. Since there is no "ordering" of winners - first place, second place, etc. - all prizes are pretty much equal, correct? can the winners request their preference of prizes? |

| I'm going to pick the winners they way I explained in my earlier post, and you will not have a choice about which prize you get. This is only to simplify the prize-assignment process--I'm really not trying to be mean or dictatorial. I swear!

| Senior Member | Contest Rules and Regulations There aren't any catches to these giveaways. The purpose of the giveaways is to make it fun for you to come to our forum. But there are some restrictions: 1.) Members are allowed to post more than once for any given weekly contest (but don't be a jerk about it and go overboard), but cannot win more than one prize per contest. 2.) For some contests, winners will be chosen by random drawing. For other contests, winners will be determined at the sole discretion of BuddyTV, usually based on best response. Therefore, it's possible that you might win more than one contest. However, if the number of times a single individual wins becomes excessive, the editors reserve the right to limit the number of prizes in order to keep it fair to other forum members. 3.) You must be 13 or older to enter the contest. 4.) If you live in a geographically isolated country, then we reserve the right to send you a gift certificate or Paypal in the amount equal to what the prize is worth, as determined solely by BuddyTV. 5.) You have one week to claim your prize. To claim your prize, send BuddyDebbie a private message, using the same account that was selected to win, with your name and an address to send the prize to. You have exactly seven days to claim the prize. For example, if BuddyDebbie announces the winners at 9:05pm PT on Tuesday, then you have until 9:05pm PT the following Tuesday to PM her. If you do not PM her within that week, then you forfeit your prize. (posted by BuddyDebbie in "Contest Rules and Regulations" thread) |

| Everytime it's a random selection, I always use a random integer generator.
