In a move that may say something about the state of writers' strike, NBC has picked up freshman hour-longs Chuck and Life for the full season. Both shows previously only had orders for thirteen episodes, but yesterday NBC added nine more to fill out the entire 22 episode season. NBC premiered four new hour long scripted series this Fall, and it now appears that Chuck and Life will be the only season-long survivors. Bionic Woman may be done for good after the strike ends. The hyped up series has disappointed both creatively and in the ratings. Journeyman, which has resonated with its audience, has taken a weekly beating in the ratings and is currently burning off its final episodes. To read the rest, click here.

Awesome. Hopefully the pickups hint at an end to the strite sometime soon. I doubt NBC would order more episodes if an ending to the strike was no where in sight.

So I finally went and watched the pilot of Chuck, like I've been meaning to do. LOVED IT. So as my itunes continues to download episode 5 (I've watched the first four in the past 24 or so hours), I'll get excited about this.

I'm so glad for Chuck. Before the season it was one of the new shows I thought I would check out but probably wouldn't like. I was very wrong. It's so cheesy but I love it.

please don't talk like that about Journeyman, we are not cancelled and are now organizing an effort to send ketchup sandwiches to NBC. and if you want to know why, you should start watching Journeyman.

glad to hear it! only shows i've stuck with from this fall's lineup. also, what is with this 'mythology of the show' stuff? why does every show out there have to be as intricate as LOST (which btw, was where i first started seeing the word 'mythology' tossed around about a tv show) and as far as Life being like House, i couldn't say. never ever had a desire to watch House and wanted to see Life from the get-go.

Lost did not start the whole mythology trend. X-Files and Buffy comes to mind.

Good news. I was slow to warm to Churck, but now I love it... always liked Life. But Journeyman is great, and the story keeps getting better.... please don't say it's cancelled.

Well, happy to see Life get the nod. I am sad that Bionic Woman and Journeyman are not doing as well but I will remain optimistic until it is fact they won't return! Chuck ... I just don't care for it.
