Today's version of Bionic Woman, as much as the original series back in the `70s, relies quite heavily on the impact of its lead actress. In the first Bionic Woman, the series actually came about as a result of audience response to Lindsay Wagner's portrayal of Jamie Sommers in a handful of episodes of its parent show, The Six Million Dollar Man.In the modern retelling of the series, Michelle Ryan has taken the cudgels from Wagner, playing Jamie Sommers as a mechanically enhanced bartender. Aside from Ryan, another strong female presence on the show is Katee Sackhoff, best known as daredevil starship captain, Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on a remake of another `70s classic, Battlestar Galactica. click here to read the rest of the article: http://www.buddytv.com/articles/bionic-woman/michelle-ryan-likes-her-bionic-12889.aspx

Well, this article is half right. Katee Sackhoff is certainly providing "girl power" to the reimagined Bionic Woman. The problem is that her character, and her portrayal of that character, is incredibly compelling, and I don't care even a little bit about the real lead of the show. Ryan's portrayal of Jaime Sommers lacks any energy whatsoever in my opinion. Please do a little bit better research before you put articles on here. It's Jaime Sommers, not Jamie Sommers. And calling Kara Thrace a daredevil "starship captain" tells me you've never watched an episode of Battlestar Galactica or even read anything about it.

I am a bit disappointed in Michelle Ryan's portrayal of the Bionic Woman. I am finding myself more intrigued with Katee Sackhoff's character. I'm from the old school Bionic Woman and all of us oldsters who loved the old Bionic Woman feel that the new Jaime Sommers character is too young and too urban. Lindsay Wagner was at least 30 something it seemed and lived an average life in the country until she received her bionics. My friends and I are still holding out hoping the new show will change for the better and hoping it isn't just targeted to teenagers and young 20 somethings while leaving out us old dedicated Bionic Woman fans.

Just like the new Battlestar:Galactica it's marketing rubbish targeted to an invented market segment that doesn't exist to create its successful television show that no one wanted. Television is sooo old and dumb and no one is buying into it anymore.
