Tricia HelferLast week on Battlestar Galactica, Kara's alliance with Leoben caused the crew of the Demetrius to stage a mutiny, leaving Helo in charge.  Meanwhile, Baltar (James Callis) continued to spread the word of the One True God, and eventually earned Tyrol's forgiveness after an impassioned speech about the difficulty of finding his destiny.

Many fans were upset that last week's episode was filled with more talk than action.  Those disgruntled nitpickers should be happier with tonight's installment, which kicks off with one heck of a tense standoff.

I really love how Sam is so faithful to Kara even though he knows she doesn't care for him as much as he does for her. Poor Gaeta getting shot like that must of hurt and I hope he doesn't loose his leg as well. Kara is either going to led the humans to earth or destroy them. Don't know which one yet. We will have to see what will become of the Cylon alliance and if they can live with each other on earth.

Poor Felix indeed. They're totally gonna amputate his leg, but I hope he gets a cool prosthetic. And note to Emmy voters: Mary McDonnell NEEDS to not only be nominated, but win. She has been extraordinary this season.

I felt like i was watching 2 different episodes... every time they went to the basestar i was on the edge of my seat, and then they got back to the roslin storyline and i almost fell asleep. Terrible pacing, but the cylon stuff today was my favourite of the season.

OMG, she looks so hot. It seems that girl is dating online now. I saw her profile on dating site "W e a l t h y lo v I n g . c o m" last week. It is said she is dating young billionaire on that site.

Isn't is strange how the Colonials have been sucked into the Cylon civil war now? And even more strange is that portion of the show is so compelling to watch. The masterful character development has made us as invested in what happens to the robots like Sam and Athena who have slowly become people (with independent thought and feeling, instead of the mindless murdering toasters from Season 1). The roller coast ride rest of the season makes me want to be able to fast forward through the summer and get to the end - but like Adama - I don't watch to see the end because I really don't want it to be over.

I have to agree with the whole basestar scenes being exciting and the Roslin story being so slow. I was, however, surprised with the redshirt getting killed and Starbuck not seeming to be even fazed about it even though the girl expressed an appreciation for Starbuck and volunteered to come to support....kind of disappointing. I mean I know someone had to be levelheaded in that situation but she could have at least showed that she cared. That 6 model is one bad ass, I'd like to see her and 7 of 9 from Voyager in a cage match!!!!

Kara doesn't need to be a Cylon.

1) According to cylon mythology, Kara is the harbinger of the apocalypse. Apocalypse is greek for "lifting of the veil" or the revelation of God's will. The end of an age...

2) The story must end with Earth in sight. The Cylons (as a group) are dangerous and volatile. Earth is no place for Cylons as we know them.

3) The future of the more highly-evolved Cylons is clearly integration with the humans. There are at least two cylon/human hybrid children that we know of. We have seen, in Athena especially, that a very few Cylons can rise above their programming and live with and be accepted by humanity. The vast majority of them - the old school Cylons I call them - will not be able to achieve this transition and will Have To Go.

Kara will be instrumental in bringing about the end of the old-school Cylons. The liberation of the bots is foreshadowing of this. Revolution is the uprising of the subordinate masses against the few elite. Revolution is always

...Revolution is always bloody and brings about great change at great cost. We are already witnessing the fragmentation of the skinjob leadership and the volatile nature of the liberated toasters - it wasn't over with the attack on the Sixes and Eights. There will be more blood/oil shed.

Finally, since the humans created the Cylons in the first place, and then the Cylons re-created themselves, the Cylons have achieved intellectual, biological and spiritual parity with their creators. Once they shed their grotesque immortality (bye bye clones and resurrection ships), the psychotic models, and the toasters, the Cylons will be fit to be part of the human race - as equals. But the old school Cylons must die first, and a final decisive battle is inevitable. It will be interesting to see how Kara brings that about.

Is she a Cylon? Perhaps. But in the end she'll be part of humanity, in life or in legacy.
