Cylon CenturionEveryone has a different idea of who the final Cylon will be as we enter into the last season of Battlestar Galactica.  Eleven have been revealed, one still remains, and all we know is that it could be absolutely anybody.  I've seen many suggestions thrown around by devoted BSG fans, and each time a new character is mentioned as a possibility, I find myself thinking it's completely plausible.  It could be a character we've known for years, one we haven't even met, or someone no one would ever expect.  We have no idea when the 12th Cylon will be revealed, but we know that we're in for a shock before Battlestar Galactica leaves the airwaves.

Based on nothing but pure speculation, I've put together a list of characters who have the highest chance of being the final toaster.

I would like to take credit for the Earth=Caprica, Hera=Roslin theory, on the off chance that it's true. I'm also beginning to suspect Ronald D. Moore just outright lied, and it's actually going to be Roslin or Starbuck.

Gaeta is someone I never thought of... It's possible...

I still have my hope that it's Billy though...
I quite miss that guy...

That was nothing more than a cheap shot at President Bush! It really pathetic that you had to add that one little sentence. It is irrelevant!

Anyways... you made a good point about Gaeta... for now my money is on Gaeta or Cally

I am leading toward Dee or someone on the Demetrius ship that Starbuck is caption of. I don't know if the last Cylon even knows that he/she is one since the last four that met heard a song and came together. Either that person already knew their true identify or was not on Galactica when the music started. I can't wait to find out.

It wasn't exactly my cheap shot at President Bush. BSG has always been a show that has translated our real world events into excellent sci-fi storytelling. There are stories that parallel the War on Terror, the invasion of Iraq, etc. The line about Bush was more a joke about what could happen if the writers stripped away the metaphor.

Ha, I've actually considered that. What if Starbuck reaches Earth, and it's our present, and suddenly our real world is greeted by this "alien" spaceship? As for the Bush comment, I think we've found the one person who DOESN'T enjoy a cheap shot at the president. With the popularity of shows like The Daily Show, taking potshots at Bush is the in-thing. But similarly, what if the final Cylon is the Pope? Or Osama Bin Laden? Or Barack Obama? Or Joe, the gas station attendant of Exit 23 on the NJ Turnpike? I have no idea what Moore has planned, but I like that, so long as he ends it right.

I would love to see the reaction if the Pope ended up being the final Cylon. The show is ending, why not stir up protests?

I think that one of the clear cut candidates for final cylon that people are overlooking is Tom Zarek! Always a rebel, on the fringes of society challenging the establishment, a thorn in Roslyn's side since day one...How poetic would it be if the original Apollo turned out to be the Uber Cylon!!!...And conveniently he is poised to take control of the fleet should anything happen to Roslyn. Interesting enough prior to the BSG re-imaging, Richard Hatched developed an idea to bring back the original BSG, and in the trailer that was filmed it showed a very human looking Apollo on the bridge of a ship, the camera panned in on him closer and closer until it revealed a very cylon red eye.
Regarding earth and all that, my feeling is that when they do get to earth it will be in our future and we will already have destroyed ourselves. There will be no humans on earth, it will be an abandoned wasteland.

Like you said, anything is possible, and im sure there have been hints all along because the writers are THAT smart. But i think the biggest, most important hint was Three's/D'Anna Beers/Lucy Lawless apology to one of the final five... since there was no reason for her to apologize to Galen, Tigh, Sam or Tory... i'm guessing the apology is to someone for some reason that will make sense and make them the fifth... even though i think this is the most important clue though, i cant help but think it could still be anyone. I like the Zarek idea though.
