Who is the fifth Cylon?  It is one of Battlestar Galactica's biggest mysteries, and it will be answered this season.  Before you say “it's so obvious that it is Sta…” how about we make a short run down of the candidates and what we think the odds are that they are the fifth model.  Our choices may surprise you.

To me, you guys have left out one person who seems to be a perfect left-field-knock-your-socks-off-holy-frak candidate for the fifth Cylon: Romo Lampkin. While he may have only shown up for the first time in the S3 finale, Tori's barely been a part of the show (certainly not in the way Billy was) so you can shove that objection to the side. He's certainly mysterious enough and he was in a position of incredible power: the trial of Gaius Baltar. He played that entire trial from the start - masterfully so. Plus, you get the Watchtower reference: he's the thief and Baltar's the joker, perhaps? Plus, he's coming back at the end of the season - right around when it was announced that the 5th Cylon would be revealed... take it or leave it.

I think it would be a bad idea for Gaius to be the final Cylon. Or any Cylon. He's always been way too representative of humanity, and making him a Cylon undermines that.

There are in my mind, three possibilities. Adama, Roslyn, or lampkin. There is one reason I think this. At the end of season three, on the final episode, when six and baltar look up at the final 5 cylons, the image blacks out, goes to a negative. If you pause it on the negative, only one cylon shows any detail. The cylon on the far right bright eyes, too bright, in fact to be eyes. The cylon has glasses on, and they are round, oval glasses. Now both Roslyn and adama wear glasses. However, the roundness of them makes me think now roslyn, her's are square. That leaves lampkin and adama. My vote is for adama.

Not sure where else to submit this, but Nana Visitor (ST: DS9, Wildfire) will appear in at least one episode this season. She filmed her first episode in Vancouver last week. (http://nanavision.com/?p=34)

RDM has already stated that the last cylon will not be Roslyn or Adama.

For me it's one of four: Starbuck, Baltar, Dualla or Cain. My money's on Starbuck though. Such a great show, far too hard to call.

Think about it.
Only Roslin has been foreshadowed.
She heard something in the jail cell many episodes ago, and again in C&C in the finale episode of season 3. Adama makes no sense dramatically or logically. Starbuck, Apollo, and any of the lesser characters such as Geata, Zarak or Dualla would be anti-climactic. It is HOW they reveal Roslin that will prove interesting. She dies on the way to Earth ... but is she to be found there later ???
