Tessa Horst's Mother Opens Up about The Bachelor

During her time on The Bachelor: An Officer and a Gentleman, Tessa Horst seemed to have a recurring debate with herself as to whether or not she really wanted to be on the show. Because of her reluctance to participate in the televised competition for Andy Baldwin’s affections, some viewers wondered why she ever agreed to be on the show in the first place.

However, Tessa herself also offered up her reasoning behind joining the show during the very first episode, when she told Andy a story about how her own mother found love unexpectedly in the midst of a crisis during a trip to Peru. The story was brought full circle when, after they announced their engagement, Tessa and Andy received from ABC a trip of their own to Peru.

Now Tessa’s mom has opened up about what it was like to have her daughter be on the show, and which part of the experience was “the hardest thing [she’s] ever had to do.”

i can see why andy fell for tessa. is tessa really 1/2 asian? she doesn't really look like it. instead, she looks more like an islander which would be half the appeal to andy. i hope they make it!!

Tessa doesn't deserve Andy's heart. She looks all innocent but is doing it for 'unpure' reasons. Mark my words...Andy will rue the day he picked Tessa...because she is dirty!!!

PS: all you Tessa supporters have just been manipulated by what they want you to see and believe on TV. Make up your own mind and see through it instead of being guided like a 7 year old.

I think the public as hopeless romantics want this couple to last. I wish Tessa & Andy the best. I think they need time as any normal human being couple to explore their relationship, feelings, etc. I think if Andy & Tessa did not want to make it work, they would not have kept in phone contact for 7 weeks apart along with have had 3 secret location trips. So many other Bachelor couples have passed on those opportunties, this couple took the opportunities. Give them a break & let them see where it goes before judging them. I agree on editing, we did not see Tessa open up until last episode, but if Andy wasn't crazy about her & wanted to know more, the relationship might have gone elsewhere.

I am glad the show is over, i was getting sick of both of them. Tessa is a tease, Andy is a player.

I agree with NOCNURSE. This show is totally stupid and the UCSF community agrees (there was a discussion in the campus paper). I work with several of Andy's former flings at the hospital and have heard things about him. Truth be told, nobody talked about the show while it was airing.. We were appalled by the show. I can't imagine what his former professors, colleagues, or patients thought if they saw his behavior on TV. The general consensus here is he made a fool of himself.

I think he should quit the Navy and become an actor. I heard (and read) that he was on TV again- ABC's Extreme Home Makeover. It is very likely that ABC called him to be on the show. Remember he said earlier that he didn't really try out for the Bachelor.. the show came to him. When Tessa visited Hawaii, he called the local paper to come take their pictures and signed autographs for tourists. He's good for Hawaii's tourism industry.

I want people to be happy and in love. I hope it works out for them. I think they are a cute couple and I wish them all the best. (Yes, there will be problems but what couple is free from problems thats why love is so important)
