Ben would have gained the memories when he passed through the Window on Flight 316.

Actually, we don't know yet if Ben has any of the memories at all, but OK, then how and when did Charlotte and Whitmore gain their memories of Faraday and Locke?

Desmond gained his while he slept on what appeared to be his and Evil Penny's Yacht. This one occurred at the moment Faraday alter Desmond's future by banging on Swan's back door.

But why did he gain the memory three years after the freighter exploded. According to Faraday's internal clock, he contacted Desmond just a day or so after the explosion.

BTW, when did Penny become evil?

forget the Chronological Order.. Faraday actually was banging on the Swan's back door sometime after Kelvin Died and more than likely before the Crash of Flight 815 chronologically.

But this does not matter...

Faraday's contact with Desmond to implant the memory about his mother, Faraday's mother, would span across linear time. Meaning, The moment we see Faraday meet Desmond at the back Door, is the same moment Desmond realizes the memory,chronologically years apart, but actually the same instance in time.

So as not to spoil tonights episode for anyone that has yet to view it. I will only briefly touch on Ben's Memory..

His memory, if like you mention, he has gained one, or multiple. Could not occur before he passed through the Window... Because it was this event that allowed our Friends into Dharma Time. Supposedly where these New Memories would have originated.

Because Ben is conked on the head. we have not seen mention of what he may have or may not have remember, to him as an old memory, but to us, an obvious new memory.

I will leave it at that... until tomorrow, when the talk is sure to heat up.
