<div class="btvarticle"><img width="200" hspace="3" align="left" alt="" src="http://www.buddytv.com/articles/carltoncusecomcin.jpg" />The people put in the most difficult position because of the writers' strike have undoubtedly been the show runners; the people who act as both writers and producers on their very own shows, who almost solely in charge of their series creative direction. Once the writers' strike began that fateful Monday, show runners were put in an impossible situation – do they break the picket line and help finish up production on their shows, or do they adhere to the Writers Guild's wishes and stay away, while their series continues production without them? <em><a href="http://www.buddytv.com/Lost.aspx" >Lost</a>,</em> with eight scripts finished and production on going, has perhaps the most loyal and demanding fan base of any series on network TV. It is because of this that <em>Lost </em>writer, producer and co-show runner Carlton Cuse has decided to go back to work. <br /><br/><br/>To read the rest, <a href="http://www.buddytv.com/articles/lost/lost-show-runner-carlton-cuse-13883.aspx">click here</a>.<div style="clear:both"></div></div>

Well, another point is that he must return to work. Remember that both Lindelof and Cuse signed big dollar deals that insured their involvement until the end of the serious. I'm sure Cuse would be breaching that agreement if he did not attend to the duties not related to the strike. I mean, I don't want to deflate Cuse's gesture of good will towards the fans, but at the end of the day I'm sure he really doesn't have a choice.

can you fix your spelling mistakes... "I haven;t read" "Cuse will not be ding any writing" ... what professional doesn't edit their own work or have someone else edit it? Even computer software spelling and grammar checks would have picked up on some of these mistakes...

When you wear two hats, it doesn't mean you have to take one off to wear the other. As for new scripts he won't, re: re-write he can't because its shared intellectual property, as for misspellings, or a line or two for clarity - he can, as long as the storyline, subtext, outcome don't deviate. If he cleared with WGA-West, he is good to go... so says MorBid0

Cuse is a member of the WGA negotiating committee and one of the people who pushed for a strike. Shame on him for crossing the line. Non-guild crew could do post on the show. Crossing the line after pushing so hard for the strike seems deplorable -- especially when so many shows so much less successful than loss have shut down production entirely.

I shouldn't type when angry, and 'loss' should read 'Lost'.
