Juliet is a great character. Like an onion, she is multi-layered, we learn a little more about her in each episode. She seems to be a tragic figure based on events of her past: failed marriage to Edmund and his death which she feels responsible for, her sisters cancer and recovery and pregnacy, which she asn't around to see the truimpiant moment, birth of her sisters daughter; and even her affection for Jack, since she knows he's in love with Kate and of course her tragic romance with Goodwin. She has a wit to keep up with the acid tongued Sawyer, compassion to comfort Sun and the ability to be a double agent against Ben in his plot to kidnap the survivors pregnant women at the end of season 3. The question always remains about her alliances, which ulitmately are to her self and to get herself off the island. She smart enough to fix Jacks appendex on a airplane wing operating table. And from a strictly male standpoint, she is very beautiful. I hope there is a place for her in season 5

Well said Moparlarry....but I do think she also cares about other people as well. For example her determination to save Sun by doing whatever she had to to get her off the island, her heartbreak over loosing the pregnant women on the island and concern for Jack before, during and after his surgery. She just wants to go home as she was told she would be able to. She misses her sister terribly, that's all.
